If you’ve never logged in before and this is your first time seeing this or using this, there’s an easy way to set up. You’re a cornerstone member, you are in the system, you’re in this database, so you can activate your account. All you have to do is to type your first and last name, this is your username.
You need to type in your password. I’m going to type that in. This is the password you use. You need to type that in your password, you can click sign in, it’ll take you through the process of activating your account, let me go back. I’m going to enter my credentials, we’re going to sign-in. This is my homepage for ACS.
ACS is a name of the database that we use. In this lesson, I am going to show you how to find an individual, how to find their phone numbers or how to find their email addresses. You can leave a comment to tell them that you’ve been following up with them.
We’re going to find the directories tab. Directories can locate a family. I can locate an individual. I can do advanced search in connections. I can print a directory. That might be a good tool. If you’d like to have a paper directory, you can do that from your own computer, , let’s locate a family.
If you meet someone and you know what his name is, you want to talk to him but you can’t remember if they have two kids or three kids or if they had a boy or a girl, you want to find their family connections, you can type in his name to find him. Their family information will pop up. They have two children, Isabelle and David, it shows you who’s the child versus who’s the spouse.
If you don’t not know too much information about him, you can go back to directories to locate family. You can find them again. You can click on them. You will see that they are visiting missionaries from the Dominican Republic, that’s how I connect them, that might be a way to use when you want to locate a family.
I am going to show you how to locate individual. For example, you’ve been tracking with Jason and you found out that he had joined a small group, we can track that. You can find Jason Marshall. Once you click on his name, this is what appears.
You will see his home address, his preferred phone number, his email address or preferred email address. You can see his family members, you can view that. I’m going to see that. I have his cell phone number, I also have a second email address I can use if I want. This is important, you can see this contact information tab, it’s great.
If you’re trying to to find out how to contact someone, you can click on here, you will find the group she’s in. You can find him. We want to see that. You can see where he is. There are some groups he has been in, he has been in senior 65. He has been engaged in Men’s Ministry.
You can see their flow in their life. You can go over to the comment section. This is great. This is great for small group leaders. We want to show you how to get to this comment area and make a comment. In this scenario I’ve been tracking with Jason, he is connected to a new small group.
I want to add a contact. This is for a situation when we have a weather disaster such as a hurricane or a bad snowstorm. There are some other options depending on your security level. Within ACS and privacy levels, you’ll see more contacts, that is one thing to affirm, you don’t have to worry about violating anyone’s privacy.
You are now allowed to view it as a cornerstone leader, that’s reserved for our pastors, we’re very careful with how we deal with those and record those. These are comments to make. We shared the date of David’s birth, those are the things that we follow up on.
Jason joined a new small group pastors on Thursday. This is a neat feature. If I click this button, it shows up as a family comment, that’s nice. Jason joined a marriage group on Wednesday night. It is a marriage class. I can put this comment in there. When I click family comment, it’ll also show up on Haiti’s comment, that’s nice for us to track.
But Haiti did not join the pastor’s Thursday prayer group, I’m going to select add comment, this is important for you. This little blue line is important, it shows up after you click add comment. This person currently has a change request pending, that’s important, this is the pending comment. They need to approve it, they need to make sure that it is good.
I want to go in there and click the pencil, that’s the edit button. Jason changed his phone number. I want to add a phone number. You can add a new cell phone. If you get your information updated, you can enter that. It shows up as a comment. This is a change request.
Changes are not applied to records until they are approved. In other words, if you talked to Jason and found out that we had the wrong home number, you can suggest that change. We will get to approve that change request, it helps us out keep updated numbers and email addresses, it helps the next person who’s trying to make a contact or a connection with them. I hope you are ready to use this, this becomes a good tool for you to provide consistent care for our church.
