Description: The author of the passage tends to show us 10 tips for getting more out of the new Apple music app for iOS 8.4, we can find detailed steps on how to operate in the system.
This is Jeff Benjamin, I’m going to show you 10 tips for getting more out of the new Apple music app for iOS 8.4.
The first tip is downloading songs, albums and playlists for offline playback, so you’ll see a little ellipsis icon next to each song or each album that you want to download, so you tap that little a-list ellipsis and then you’ll see where it says make available offline.
All you need to do is to tap that and that will save that song for offline playback and you’ll see a little offline indicator next to the song that you save for offline playback now, you can also do the same thing with albums, so if I tap that, I’ll see where it says make available offline for the album and then next to the album, you’ll see the little offline indicator there.
Our next tip is seeing downloads, you can see your current download progress, you’ll see this little banner, tap that and you can see all the current download, so you don’t have to exit out of the music app to view your downloads, you can view them from within the music app now in iOS 8.4 which is nice. You don’t have to go into the iTunes app or anything like that.
My next tip is the mini players, I’m playing a song and I want to view the noun playing information, I can do that by tapping this little banner here, this is the mini player and that will basically expand it to view the full nail plain interface.
You can minimize that by tapping this little arrow here and that will minimize it and turn it into a mini player. Why is it called a mini player? It’s because it’s always present throughout the entire Apple music experience, so you can go to any of these tabs here and you’ll always be able to access your nail playin information there. You can pause from the mini player and perform additional options or commands by hitting the ellipsis button just like that now.
My next tip is with the radio, you hear something on beats 1 or any of the other radio stations that you like and you want to save to your music library, all you need to do while the song is playing is to hit the little ellipsis icon and then you can add to my music, so I want to add this song to my music.
All I need to do is to minimize. I’ll go to my music and I can always find that song and play it back whenever I want, the Apple music connect feature allows you to interact with artists, you can comment on their posts and things of that nature, but you have a little nickname, that’s associated with your comment, so if you hit the little comment button, you can type a comment, but when your comment shows up, it is associated with your nickname.
I’m going to show you how to change that nickname, all you do is to go up to this little button here in the upper left hand corner, you’ll be able to change your nickname by tapping edit and then changing the nickname like that, you can also add a photo by tapping edit here.
You don’t want to interrupt the currently playing song, how do you go about doing that? I’m going to show you, all you need to do is to find the song that you want to play next, we’re going to find something here, let’s see something in Taylor Swift and then next to that song, you’ll see the little ellipsis button, so you tap that ellipsis button and then you’ll see where it says play next, so you can tap play next and that will cue that up for play next.
All you do is to tap this little button and you can see the next song is style by Taylor Swift and you can manage that if you want to you can add additional like that from your library or you can clear the cue like this.
There was something to played on Apple’s flagship music station beats one and you didn’t get to hear it, what you can do is that you can find the playlist from those earlier sets, so tap where it says beats one under the radio tab and then if you scroll down, you’ll see featured shows, so Zane Lowe had his show on.
All you do is to tap that and then you’ll be able to see his entire set for that day, you can see his full set list like that, so that means you can go back and listen to any songs that he played and catch up on what you may have missed now.
I don’t own any Taylor Swift albums, so there’s none in my library, but I’m going to add 1989 to my library year head to music and I’m going to show you what this allows me to do now, if I go into the clock app here and I add an alarm and go to sound.
I can wake up to a Taylor Swift song, if I want to wake up to shake it off if I want to, because I say that to my library from Apple music, so that means you have a vast library that you can choose from to wake you up in the morning now.
One of the inherent advantages of Apple music over a competitor like Spotify is that you can interact with your music via series, so that means you have access to the vast iTunes library from your voice, so I can think of any song, I’m trying to think, there are so many songs to choose from.
Try to think of something I don’t have, how about this play Pharrell freedom, so it’s now Blaine Pharrell Williams, his new song, freedom and that’s not in my library, so it went out, it searched the iTunes library, I got this song for me via voice and not only can you use Siri for things like that to search for songs or albums, you can also play a year, so if I play a song from 1970, that’s not right, play songs from the 70s.
There’s Barbra Streisand and you can use series built-in Shazam integration to identify songs and once it identifies a song, you can add it to your library by saying add to library, so a pretty extensive extensive voice control that you have with Siri and Apple music.
Our final tip is a handy one, it allows you to find an album associated with an individual song, so you opened up a playlist, there are lots of different individual songs in there, you wanted to find an album associated with that song quickly.
I’m going to choose this one, sweet nothing by Florence or by Calvin Harris feature in Florence Welch, I can tap on that and once I do, it’s going to load up the mini player or I can tap on the little ellipsis icon next to it and then you see all these options.
The option you want is this top one here which doesn’t look like a tappa button, but if you tap that, it’ll load up the the actual album associated with that, not the playlist, so it’ll load up that album so that you can find that album and then either save all these songs offline or save them to your library.
That is a handy little shortcut that I enjoy with Apple music, so those were 10 different tips, I hope this was able to help you get more out of Apple music, we’ll be back more coverage on Apple music in the near future.
