Description: The article is about at&t wireless login. AT&T is launching their new new unlimited data plans for smartphones to make their plans more competitive than they’ve ever offered before. One of the most unique features is unlimited data on internet only devices.
I’m Cherie with the RV mobile internet Resource Center and it has been a crazy couple of weeks as all of the carriers have been rolling out new unlimited data plan,AT&T has a very interesting new option that’s rolling out today on March 2nd,they announced it earlier this week, they had originally responded to Verizon unlimited data plan with something that was underwhelming, but what they announced this week is exciting.
First they have two unlimited data plans, the first one we’re going to cover is the limited choice. This one isn’t as of much interest to our viewers, but it might be of interest if you have some small needs, basically for $60 a month, you get an unlimited on device for smartphones and tablets.
You can get a limited data plan,it includes no mobile hotspot and speeds are always capped to three megabit per second. You’re not going to do a lot of stuff on it,you can add additional lines to it,if you have two lines,it’s a hundred and fifteen dollars, including two lines and more is $20 per line after that.
You can add on mobile hotspots such as their unite Explorer for $20 a month extra, but it will also be capped at that three megabit per second. The interesting one is what they are calling now unlimited plus. I’m glad to give it a new name because calling it the new new unlimited plan was going to get awkward.
This plan starts at $90 a month for a single smart phone line that includes mobile hotspot use,it’s 10 gigabytes at high speed, however then it drops to 120K bit per second,it is slow,it is the slowest throttling that you’re going to find on any of the carriers.
However on device is unlimited data,it is subjected to the 22 gigabytes before you hit the network management threshold. The difference between throttling is you are always slow down.
After you reach that cap, you’re going to be slowed down. If you’re on a congested tower,it may be variable,it may only be an hour a day. If you’re in a major metro area and there’s no specific speed, the carrier needs to manage the network.
You can add additional smart phone lines for $20 a piece up to ten on a consumer account, you can also add them. These are the internet only devices, this is what they’re calling these. This is mobile hotspot, this is their base, some of you may have gotten for the rural plan with the 250 gigabyte cap or the connected car for $20 a month.
They’re also subject to that 22 gigabytes of network threshold so that you could be slowed down after you reach that 22 gigabytes, these are per lines, these are not for the entire account.
We have confirmed with their public relations, they are not putting that 10 gigabyte mobile hotspot high-speed cap on internet-only devices which means as long as you’re not on the congested tower, these are going to be unlimited. We hope that they know what they were unleashing here because no other carrier is doing that, that makes these very interesting.
We have also heard some reports about the connected car,it is the Mobley,it’s a little thing that connected into the obd2 port on cars for Diagnostics or built on the OnStar system, you might have seen this rolling out today as well for $20 a month.
We’re seeing people successfully able to enable these as standalone plans, you’re only paying $20 a month for that unlimited, that is cool. Some of the other features that they’re rolling out on these limited plus plans are that they have added the North America,in Canada and Mexico your plans will work as you’re in the US.
They are allowing full HD video streaming on the plus plan not on that lower end choice plan, however when you first activate the plan, something called stream saver is going to be turned on your account and that automatically reduces your video resolution down to low res, however on the plus plan, you can go in and disable, that it’s a one-time thing you need to do,but then you can have full HD video.
The other interesting thing is that if you’re using DirecTV now or the DirecTV streaming app as a drug TV customer, apparently your data usage on those does not count towards that twenty two gigabyte network management threshold. However if you reach that threshold by other data usage, everything is subject to slow down after that confusing.
We know lots of options coming out. The interesting thing is Cricket Wireless which is a subsidiary of AT&T for their prepaid plans, they’ve had some adjustments to their unlimited plan for a smart phone. They’ve dropped the price,it’s now $60 a month or 55 with the prepay option,it is down a little bit from what it used to be.
However, they are going to start implementing in that twenty two gigabyte network management threshold on it,a lot of people are upset about that, that doesn’t go into rec with ATT an interesting option.
Those claims do not officially include mobile hotspot use,we know many people use it but it doesn’t officially include it,that could end at any time if they choose to enforce that.
That is a quick wrap-up of the new AT&T unlimited data plans, they have had several iteration of their plans over the years, but this is the first one that includes any mobile hotspot use,the most interesting thing is that they have that unlimited with the network management on mobile and on internet only devices.
Those are rolling out on March 2nd. Apparently AT&T stores are clobbered today,we’re in lines to get these plan changes, this is not a limited time promotion, don’t feel you need to wait for a line or get these today, you should be able to handle that in the coming weeks. It can be a very interesting option if you’re on AT&T,it is definitely worth looking into.
