Should You Get the Amazon Prime Rewards Card by Chase? Chase.com Amazon.com

March 7, 2018

Description: The article is going to take a look at the taste Amazon Prime card, the author will talk about the premium benefits offered by Amazon and some other details about its annual fees.

Today we’re going to take a look at the taste Amazon Prime card, a lot of people are excited for it, because it offers 5% back at Amazon and offers a ton of premium benefits that you only see in credit cards that have annual fees.

We’re going to take a look at the benefits, you should get the card and find who might not want to get the card even if it does benefit them, but before we do that, we’re going to take a look at who should get the card.

If you don’t have Amazon Prime or if you don’t shop at Amazon enough, the card doesn’t make sense, if you have Amazon Prime and I do know certain people who maybe have a Costco membership already or Sam’s Club membership, they don’t want to pay for never membership or they can get better preston somewhere else.

They don’t use the account, it doesn’t make sense, there are other cards you can apply for, it is probably fit for you and my mantra can always find cards that add a positive value for you and not necessarily get a card, because other people are getting a card, in this case, it would be fit into one of those two categories.

There are probably better cards that fit more of your lifestyle than discarding this card, it is really more targeted towards people who shop at Amazon a lot, who make a lot of orders very often, so if you remember those people, I’m one of them, I probably have about eight different Amazon Busta’s around my room that discard me to love stands for you.

I don’t think I need to sell you on the benefits of Prime, but this card makes a lot of sense, because you’re getting 5% back on all of your purchases, but also before these to have these 15% back categories, so I think there was 15% back on certain items, I was considering getting the Amazon card solely because of that.

There was a high-end DSLR that I really want to get, I didn’t end up getting it, because it was expensive, but it was $3,000, so it’s a sony a7s, if I got the card 15% back, there are other ways to get five percent off on amazon, but it typically involves buying Amazon gift cards or credit and not using your credit card on Amazon.

The main problem here is that you end up losing out on the credit benefits, so things like purchase protection, return protection and extended warranty, you lose out on, when you’re using Amazon gift cards versus using a credit card on Amazon and even though you’re getting 5%, it might not make sense, you lose out on extended warranty.

For me, it’s important especially if I’m buying things in $100 or $500 or more range, because if something happens, I want that extra one year of manufactures warranty extended the card also offers 2% back on gas stations drug stores and restaurants.

It’s fun, but it’s not great, so for a lot of people, they probably have cards that fill those roles and if you don’t, it’s helpful, but there are other cards like the city double cash card that offers 2% off everything making the 2% back on these three specific categories, not the greatest and 1% backed on all purchases is standard.

It’s a nice perk, but it’s nothing outstanding, so one cool features that has no foreign transaction fees most cards that had this feature usually have an annual fee meaning that it stands out for the back.

As a friend who had to get a Nordstrom card in order to get this benefit, because none of the cards she had had this feature, she did have a Discover card, though she knew that the acceptance rate was a lot lower in Asia and I can attest to that as well.

The other benefits of this card are very common visa signature, one wrote that assistance travel insurance emergency care, if you have any other visa signature card, you probably have these benefits, but if you don’t, they’re very helpful.

The sign up bonus is a $70 Amazon gift card, you get it after you get a proofreader card, it’s good, but it’s not great, there are other cards where you can get maybe $350 or $700 or even thousands of dollars of benefits compared to this card.

This card does have no on, you’ll be zone, so you have to weigh what cards make more sense for you, so I previously mentioned how those people would benefit from the card, because it doesn’t make sense for them.

I fall into this group, because I have two freedoms and I have a discovery card, this means that there are a lot of opportunities for me to buy gift cards at a discount, for example, a mixed quarter for the chase freedom, the category is drugstores, so I can go to Walgreens, buy an Amazon gift card by a $500 Amazon gift card.

I get 5% back for the chaise freedom, but for two points which is freedom, they’re worth a bit more, because I have the Chase Sapphire reserved, it’s worth up to 1.5 X of the 5%, so you could argue that it’s worth 7.5% or maybe even up to 10%.

If I decide to use transfer partners to optimize my points a bit better, it borders the Discover Card, I’m in my first Skeeter, so I get two weeks of that, so 5x times 2, so you get 10% back, so for both cards, I’m getting 7 point 5 to 10% back compared to 5% back.

There are pros and cons. If you are making big purchases, I wouldn’t feel comfortable using a gift card, because you lose a lot of protections, you get a value extended warranty, so that’s a major thing for me.

I wouldn’t buy anything, that’s high-value that I wanted to extend a warranty on an Amazon gift card. I don’t do it on a credit card the other group, the people who would benefit from this card are the ones who are under five twenty four and who are looking at other travel cards.

If you’re not aware Chase has rolled, we’re at limits our ability to get certain cards, if you have more than five cards in a lot 24 months, those five cards could be from anywhere, so I can be from Chase compute from Bank of America as long as you have five new accounts within the last 24 months.

You won’t be able to get cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Chase Sapphire Preferred are the ink cards and people depending on your needs might benefit more by getting those cards than getting discards, so even if you look at how much you spend on Amazon, as you spend even $1,000 5% back, it is only $50 even spent $5,000 5% back is what $250.

If you start looking at cards, that issue Sapphire Reserve or the signup bonus is 50,000, you are points that translates to $500 in cash or after $2,000 and travel, if you do transfer partners 750, if you use their portal, so 10 of depends on whether $70 and 5% back makes and so in conclusion.

This code is helpful for people who shop at Amazon Prime in orbit five percent back who are either over five twenty four or who are under and who aren’t looking to add a lot of cars or who don’t travel or care about Hotel points on much are people who are office managers. So you’re buying a lot of snacks or a lot of time, I would definitely get it even if I was under five twenty-four, every month that’s a lot of money back to me and it makes a lot of sense.
