Description: This article is about citibank credit card login, which shows you a good news that the Citi double cash is offering a $100 signup bonus when you spend five hundred dollars in the first three months. This is its first time offering a signup bonus.
This is Credit Shifu. Today we have a little bit of breaking news for you that the Citi double cash that’s the popular cash back credit card that gives you two percent back on everything is now offering a $100 signup bonus when you spend five hundred dollars in the first three months.
This is significant because this card since its inception has never offered a signup bonus, this is the first time, if you want to apply for it, we’ve got the link down below you can click through can go and apply for it or you can search it on Citi’s website.
I remember seeing an interview with the head of credit cards at Citigroup or Citibank and he said that with this card they’d done a lot of market research and they listened to what consumers wanted with this card.
A high earning cash back rate on everything with no bonus category is 2% on everything, but obviously with that they have to sacrifice in some areas, so they sacrificed a signup bonus as one of the things they have to sacrifice.
Obviously now we’re seeing $100 signup bonus, it is still a little bit on the low side as a sign up bonus pool, I call tier two cash back cards that are on some rewards but have no annual fee, we can take a look at a few, the chase freedom for example is a one hundred and fifty dollars bonus and there’s a three hundred dollars targeted offer that some people might be able to get with the chase freedom.
The Wells Fargo cash wise that we talked about the other day is a two hundred dollars bonus, that’s a public offer when you spend a thousand dollars in the first three months, let’s have a little bit of a look at this Citi card.
It earns two percent cash back on everything, one percent when you make the purchase and an additional 1% when you pay off the balance, you have to pay the minimum payment and then you earn the additional one percent.
It has no annual fee but it has foreign transaction fees, it’s not so good for traveling abroad, this would be more for US use only, I would say this card would probably be good for someone who has high spending and not so much interested in airline miles, they want a solid return of cash back on their spending.
You can also use it when you don’t get any other bonus category on that particular spend, it would be a go-to card for non bonus categories if you looking for hotel points from non bonus categories because they’re worth a lot.
Saying with this two percent cashback, it’s a better rate of return on non bonus spending, in one final point historically over this card’s life, a lot of people have used the method of first applying for another city card that has a sign-up bonus, then after 12 months downgrading to this card.
So they don’t have to pay the annual fee and that way they will get a larger signup bonus, because the signup bonus is only a hundred dollars, that is still a better way to do it, you get a bigger bonus in a more cost-effective way, but you have to wait 12 months.
For people who perhaps don’t qualify for those higher level cards, you wouldn’t be able to do that, for people who don’t want the hassle of doing that and want this Citi double cash card, now is the time.
It’s a better time than any to apply for it, check this link http://citi.us/20ftuYX for the application, I also want to say sorry about the wallets being out of stock, we will be getting more towards the end of the month.
We also have a kind of surprise, a new wallet that we’re getting, it’s a secret at the moment, we’re receiving the prototypes probably at the end of the month until we start selling them if the prototypes are up to my standard.
I also want to appreciate all the people from California who’ve been buying the wallets lately, I don’t know why but a lot of people from California bought the wallets, they are someone from Oakland, Santa Clarita or a town called Bell. I’m not familiar with that one.
We also had someone from Brooklyn who bought one a few days ago as well. Thank you for supporting us. For more credit card tips and tricks, feel free to leave your comments below.
