Description: The following article mainly has the topic about comcast net login, which shows you how to recover or change your Comcast password. Getting locked out of your Comcast Xfinity email account is never fun. What is even worse is trying to contact an agent to help you.
Welcome back to another tech tip, I’m going to show you how to recover or change your Comcast password, if you’re new to this channel and stumbled upon it, we do a lot of how-to tutorial passages, the first thing we want to do to recover your Comcast email or reset it is that we’re going to want to navigate over to Comcast website.
I’m on the computer now, I’m going to open up that website, you can open up any browser you want, whether it’s Chrome or Firefox, navigate to Comcast.com or Xfinity.com, either way it’s going to take you to Xfinity, in this case I’m going to go to Comcast.com.
What that’s going to do as you can see is that it’s going to take me to the sign-in page, we’re going to click email at the top, as you can see what it’s going to do is to take us to the actual login page where it’s going to ask for your username and password.
What you’re going to want to do is to come to the bottom of that, click on forgot password, it’s a blue link, you want to left-click on that, from here it’s going to want to ask what is the username that you’re trying to get back into, so I will type in that information.
Typically it’s going to be at such-and-such at Comcast.com or if you’ve set up a different email to attach it to your Comcast, it’s going to be that specific email address, so you need to to make sure that you have that information in there correctly.
Once you’ve got that in there, click on continue, for spam and security measures it’s going to want to ask you to type in the CAPTCHA letters, I’ll type that in, once you’ve got that in, click on continue, on this one there are a couple of different Recovery Options I can use.
I have a phone number that I can use, then I also have a different email address that I could use to recover this specific email, in this case it’s easiest to use the phone number, especially if you have a cell phone, they will usually end up sending you a text message whether you can use to type that in and then have it send a verification code.
You type that in, you reset your password, if you have an alternate email address and you have access to that email, you can login to that email address that you have sent it to, check the spam folder, if you don’t see it in the Inbox, come back and write in the code from there.
In this case I’m going to use the phone number that we’ve got on file to reset this password, I’m going to click send a text message to my mobile phone, click that option, you’re going to want to hit continue with either option that you have.
If you don’t have access to one of these, you can click on the try a different method option, it will give you probably some other options to either give them a call to reset it or it may have verify security questions, but since we have the phone number let’s use that.
Hit continue, another page will pop up, it says that we’ll send a text message to you, it’ll give you the list of the phone number with instructions on how to change your password, you’ll want to hit continue to send over that code, we’re waiting for that code to come on through.
Sometimes it can take a little bit of time for it to come on, usually they say about sometimes 10 to 15 minutes, most the time it’s instant, but if not, give it about 10 minutes or so before it tries again, in this case I have the code, I’m going to type that in.
I’m going to hit continue, at this point it’s going to ask to create a password, if you want to visibly show the password, you could check this box here, that will show you the password as you type, so you don’t make sure that you type it in wrong.
You can click remember my username and password for next time you go to login, it’ll remember that information, be advised that sometimes it may ask you to type that information in in a couple of weeks, but you can check those options, those aren’t required, this is the user preference.
I’m going to set a new password for this, once you’ve got the passwords in there correctly, as you can see it’ll have a green dot, that will say strong, weak or medium, it gives you your security level on that, on the bottom box it has a check marks meaning that the information that you type in the top field and the information that you type in the second fields are matching.
We can click on continue, your browser may ask you to want to save it, click no or not now, then it says you’re all set, we’ve updated your password, you can sign into your account, click on continue on that, it will redirect you to your inbox.
