Description: The following long passage is going to focus on the key point of costco visa login. We will be indicated by several information about the benefits which we can acquire if we use the Visa Infinite Key. The author will also tend to talk about more details that we need to know for visa infinite card.
It’s a passion from a stubby and today we’re going to talk about the things you need to know about for visa infinite cards, so last week I did a video talking about why it doesn’t make sense to compare Visa Infinite and visa signature, but it seems that a lot of people want to find out a bit more about Visa Infinite, so today we’re going to do that video.
The first thing you need to know is that Visa Infinite is on the top of the list in terms of visa cards, so we have visa infinite visa signature and then normal visa cards visa infinite cards have the highest merchant fees among all cards.
So it’s even higher than American Express, but it doesn’t affect you, it’s mostly on the merchant side, annual fees are also typically higher compared to signature and normal cards.
Another way to think of it is on the top end, you have something with the Chase Sapphire Reserve or the ritz-carlton card, that’s a Visa Infinite card in the middle, you have something like the Chase Sapphire Preferred and then at the bottom, you have something with the freedom card.
Interestingly enough, when you increase your limits from a normal Visa card to up to $5,000, once you hit that $5,000 number, it instantly becomes a signature card, a good example of this is that if you had a freedom card, I had a $2,000 limit before hands and then you’ve got a credit limit increase, you transfer some balance over to get it to 5,000, they would probably send you a new card and you would get new different benefits on the flip side if you take the same card and you increase that limit to $10,000.
They’re not going to change you to a Visa Infinite card, so if you had something like the Chase Sapphire Preferred as another example, it started off a $5,000 credit limit increase to $10,000, it wouldn’t become a Visa Infinite card solely due to the credit limit increase.
Currently, there are only a few cards in the u.s., that are Visa Infinite cards and some of them aren’t that mainstream, while there are a lot that we typically talk about, so the Chase Sapphire preserve the CSR is a very good example and probably the most mainstream card most of these cards have annual fees in the four hundred and fifty dollar range some slightly less.
But it is a large chunk of money, but for a lot of people, you also get the travel credits which make it substantially cheaper, so the effective annual fee after all these credits is probably going to be around 75 $50 credit limits are also interesting, because for different issuers, there are different requirements.
So for something like Chase, the minimum starting limit is going to be $10,000, afterwards, you can decrease it to eight thousands or five thousand or whatever, but once you get the card in order to get the card, it has to be at least ten thousand dollars.
This means that if you’re trying to apply for the card, if it’s not likely that Chase is going to be able to grant you ten thousand dollars in credit limit for a new card, then that might end up being an issue or you might have to have some other credit on some of your other cards in order to move it over to get that card open in terms of upgrades in order to upgrade from the Chase Sapphire Preferred to the reserve.
You’re going to have that ten thousand limit, so either consolidate your limits that way you have at least ten thousand or you’re going to need to have a way to increase that limit, so probably a credit limit increase on the flip side though for something like the US bank altitude reserve card, the minimum limit is only $5,000, so a big contrast five thousand to ten thousand pretty big jump the big thing a lot of people probably wonder about is what are the benefits of having a Visa Infinite card.
So we’re going to run through a few different things, the first one and probably one that I don’t talk enough about is the visa infinite luxury Hotel Collection, it’s also known online as the LHC, so luxury Hotel Collection.
The main benefit is that when you book stays at specific hotels, you’re going to get free upgrades and other free benefits, if you’re familiar with the American Express fine hotel and resorts programs of the fhr program, it’s effectively visas version, so the same idea, the same perks and it applies to people who have Visa Infinite cards, one thing to be aware of is that this is typically for luxury hotels.
So if you are someone who doesn’t care where they stay, then this perk is pointless, so it depends on the city you’re in for something like San Francisco or LA the starting price is that you’re looking at are about three hundred to five hundred dollars per night for something like Vegas a lot more reasonable.
I’ve seen stuff in the hundred or two hundred dollar range for places that I typically go, so this is mostly Vegas as both Asian countries American Express seems to do slightly better, so the rates are slightly better and also there seems to be more options.
If you do have both cards though, if you’re not sure I would strongly recommend comparing them yourself to look into where you want to go, because obviously you might not be going to Asia, the next benefit is a concierge which helps with reservations as well as trip planning for me.
The main GU all these programs is if they do have specific partnerships which allows me to get tickets that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to get, maybe it’s last-minute or maybe it’s something, that’s highly in demand.
I don’t use a trip planning part as much, because for me, I guess I don’t mind researching stuff, so if you do need help with that, then maybe that works out for you, but for the most part from what I’ve heard and from my experience even with American Express, they’re mostly googling stuff for you, so if you are too lazy to Google stuff, then that’s going to be helpful. But I think for most people, it’s going to be reservations as well as tickets.
The next benefit is a global entry statement credit, so this also works for tsa PreCheck, this is a good perk especially if you are someone who goes to the airport, I think it saves you a lot of time and also it makes the experience of going to the airport a lot better, you do get this with a lot of other cards, even cards that aren’t necessarily Visa Infinite cards, so that’s something to consider.
At a certain point, you’re going to have a lot of these credits and you’re not going to know what to do with them, the next benefit is going to relate to car rentals, so this is Avis national as well, so for car of car rental benefits, you need to run the numbers yourself, so you’re going to Vegas, spend two minutes googling different options.
Because it’s going to make a big difference for me in my experience, Costco has given me the best rates of everyone else, even including these benefits, so that’s the one that I’ve typically gone with, but find what works for you.
The good thing of car rentals though is unlike hotels and airlines, you can cancel where you can not show up and it’s not going to detrimental E effect you, it’s obviously nice as a courtesy to cancel before hands.
But oftentimes, I’ll typically have at least two bookings and then I’m going to pick the cheaper one, the main reason for this is that there’s not any cost to having that booking, so by booking early, I booked a month before my trip, if I find a better price afterwards, two weeks after I can cancel that initial booking and have that secondary booking, there’s no fee for canceling the same thing for a week out and same thing for the same day.
I typically find that it’s a lot cheaper, the closer you get to it, but you want to lock it in, because you don’t have any risk, there’s no reason not to lock in the initial price moving on, we have lounge access which is through Priority Pass, this means that you get to go to lounges for free at different airports and it works out well depending on the airport that you’re flying to and the one that you’re based out of so foremost priority Pass lounges.
You can go when you depart and also when you arrive, I’m flying to Denver, when I’m believing San Francisco, if there was a good priority pass lounge, I could go there on the way out and same thing when I land in Denver, be aware though that Priority Pass lounges can vary a lot.
So there was going to be some lounges that only have crackers as well as coffee and then maybe some vodka, then on the other hand, you’re going to have ones that give you about thirty dollars in benefits towards a steak in general lounges and Malaysia seems to be a lot better than the ones in America.
So the best beef fajitas I had in Taiwan was at the priority Pass lounge, I tried a lot of different places on the street markets, but they weren’t as good with this benefit, you do need to look into the terms, because it’s going to vary by card significantly, so it is something like the Chase Sapphire preserve.
You can technically go unlimited times and you can bring in unlimited guess on a flip side for something like the US bank altitude reserve card, there are a lot more restrictions, so you do need to be aware of it.
Otherwise, you might be charged, the next benefit is a discount air program where you’re going to get a hundred dollar discount, when you’re doing a round-trip domestic flight with between two to five people, this is one of the other perks that depend on the specific card, so for something like the Chase Sapphire Preserve, you do not get this perk on a flip side for something like the chase ritz-carlton card.
You do get this perk, so you have to weigh whether it makes sense, if you are someone who likes to do short haul flights, this works out well, so if I want to go to Vegas and I’m willing to plan, a few weeks, I can do it for about $40 per person trip, the same thing with going to LA, I found prices for about $20 per person round-trip, that’s going to be cheaper than to uber to the airport, the same thing with Boston from New York, you can take it from a hundred and thirty seven dollars to less than a hundred dollars moving on, we have the airline incidental credits and again this one varies a lot.
So something with the taste a fire preserve anything that is going to code on your credit card as travel, it’s going to work, it’s automatic, it doesn’t require you to call in to do it so as long as a transaction codes as travel, you’re good to go, so good examples of random ones, I work or tolls as well as parking goober as well as lyft and even uber eats also works, because it codes as travel.
So if you’re not sure whether something is going to work to what tests transaction, do a one or two dollar or very small transaction to see if it codes is travel and that’s your answer on the flip side for the chase ritz-carlton card, it’s more of an incidental credit.
So you need to call in to get it, specifically apply it and there are a lot of different rules on what works for most people, this typically means seat upgrades are checked bags in case you’re wondering for the Ritz Card.
You aren’t going to be able to buy gift cards, because they’re going to see the transaction and you need to call in to get it approved, sometimes it might work, but I would not rely on it whatsoever moving on, we have to find Wine & Food Program and this one’s interesting, because it works even if you have a Visa Signature card, so whether you have a signature card or an infinite card, you’re getting exactly the same benefit.
The main benefit is that if you go to any of these specific wineries, you’re going to get a buy one, get one free for standard tastings, you’re also supposed to get savings for wine purchases as well, as other tastings and also food pairings, but I’m not sure how true that’s going to be for different properties.
You can also get discounts for transportation to wine country, but I think it’s expensive and I think there are better solutions available that are very similar a bit more Genki. I think most people have one designated driver the final benefit, we’re going to talk about golf, so this allows you to reserve tee times at private clubs at a rate of $99 per player per round.
If you have a Visa Infinite card, you can bring yourself as well as up to 3k and they can go at the same rate for most people, this probably isn’t going to be too useful, but if you are someone who wants to go to a specific private club, this works out well, visa infinite cards.
You also get a lot of different protections for when you travel, when you buy stuff or when you rent a car, so the main idea here is by using a credit card, you get so many more benefits that you otherwise wouldn’t get a good example is that if you buy something and you realize that I no longer need this and the store doesn’t take it back, you can do return protection and ship it back and they’re going to refund you the fall amounts.
So you’re shipping it back to chase in this case or to ensure that they work with and it’s dealt with when you rent a car, you can typically decline the CD W, because it typically comes with your credit card the same thing.
If you have a trip delay by using a credit card, you’re not going to need to sleep at the airport, you’re going to be able to rent a hotel and take an uber or taxi there and back and also to have dinner and it’s going to be typically covered up to $500.
Since this video is long, let me know if it make sense to cover these protections in a future video, so I hope that was helpful and let me know if you have any questions, my question for you is of all the benefits that we talked about so the wine the luxury hotel collections priority pass which one do you think is the most useful and which one do you think is the least useful. Let me know in the comments down below.
If you like this video, give it a thumbs up, it helps us out and if you know anyone else who’d benefit from what we talked about, feel free to share this video with them, because it’s probably going to help them out, see you next time.
