Description: This is a brief tutorial of the ReadWorks digital which is an online teacher resource that allows teachers to find various articles and excerpts related to their class and give them as assignments

Today we are taking a look at ReadWorks digital. Before I get into this tutorial, I’d like to explain that a ReadWorks digital is an online teacher resource that allows them to find various articles and excerpts related to their class and give them as assignments. This article will cover the teacher’s and student’s part in which I will talk about how to find articles, how you sign on assignments, how the students can log on and do the assignments as well as how to review the assignments.

First, we are going to begin with the teacher part. Go to our web browser, type in ReadWorks digital. Once you are in, you can click on teacher log in which will bring you to this page. Create your account, and sign in.

Here you can see find articles, the first thing is choose the grade of the article you are looking for. Then it would give you the articles that you need. Or you can choose by categories. If you find some articles that you like, you can click my list button and it will add to your list. When you add it to your list, you can navigate it to the list which will bring up all the articles that you’ve added.

When find the articles, you can click the assign button and assign them to all of your students. But first, you have to add a class. You come over here, click create a class, choose the grade, name the class, click Next. You can either invite them with their Google account or you can invite with roster which means that you can type in the students’ names and you will have to send them emails.

So when you come in, you can see a password, you can give each individual their password. You can add more students as you want to. You copy the class code and send it to them. When them get to the website, type in the class code and student password.

After creating a class, you can set up an assignment. You will have this assignment tab and here are some options, you can see article, vocabulary, comprehension questions, you can decide what to assign and what not to. Then you can see choose the class here and choose assign to the whole class or specific students as well as the dates.

Then you can go to check out your assignments. You can delete it if you don’t want it, you can go to the past to see the former assignments. You will see and grade the answers of the students on the assignment results when they submit it. It will also give you an explanation on the written answers, which you can refer to when you grade the answers of students. If they are right, you can click on correct and if they are not, you can click on the percentage or incorrect.

When we go back to the class result, you can see it’s been updated, the green means correct, the red means incorrect, the blue means ungraded. Now we are going to move on to the student part.

If you are a student, go to the iReadWorks digital website, click I am a Student. After getting in, you are going to type in the class code, search for you name, type in the password that your teacher has sent to you. Click Continue.

After logging in, you are going to see the assignments to do. Click on the assignments, read the article and answer the questions. When you are done, click submit. You can go back and see the results, if there’s any wrong answers, you can fix it only if your teacher let you do that. When you do all of your assignments, you can click log out.
