In this case we’ll use Mike Simmons and the password will be the password given to you, click sign in, when you first log into your email account, you’ll be brought to a setup page, this will only happen once on the initial setup, from then on you will be redirected immediately on sign in to your inbox.
You’ll be asked to answer a few questions, your language preferences and your Terms and Conditions, we will pick English US, we will scroll down and enter the captcha form, it authenticates that we’re human, we enter what we see.
If we scroll down, we will read our terms and conditions, then we will click I accept and create my account, then we will automatically be brought to our inbox, once your email has been loaded, you will be automatically redirected to your inbox page.
On the inbox, you’ll see your new emails that have come in, in this case it’s Google Mail team that has sent you a bit of information on how to access your Google Mail account and how to set up on even your mobile phone, on the left side you’ll see your compose mail, your inbox and a list of other navigational links.
You can filter through the other navigation links, at the top you will see different links to different areas of your email account, you’ll see the start page, mail which we’re on, calendar, documents sites and contacts, the most important ones are mail which we’re on now, calendar and documents.
The calendar is a normal calendar, it’s integrated with your email, you can invite people and share the calendar with other people, it’s important to review, whenever you get a chance, your documents enable you to upload Word documents or Excel documents onto your email platform and allow you to access them anywhere from any computer in the world.
If we move down, we can see Google emails that give you a little more explanations about how the system works, please review those, you have your archive, report spam and delete, these are the three most important buttons on your email platform.
Archive is new because you have seven gigs worth of space, you can archive emails so that you can save them for later in case you might want to review them, but when you archive an email, it will be eliminated from your inbox but still be kept in your all mail contact areas.
All you have to do is to select an email and click on archive, it leaves from your Inbox, if you want to retrieve an email, you can do it two ways, you can simply go up to your search bar, in this case at the other side you see that it is search mail.
What we’ll do is to click that, we’ll think that I don’t remember exactly what the email was or what the name was but I know that it was from Google, I will enter Google and click search mail, this is how you will be able to find all emails relating to Google.
One is the one that’s in your inbox and the other one is the one that we archived, you can click in and see the email and all the details, so you never lose any information, if we go back and click on inbox again, we’re back to the Inbox which only has the one Google Mail.
On the top right of your screen of your inbox, you will see your email, this is Mike Simmons at Freeman contingent, you’ll also see your settings, older versions, help and sign out, the help is great resource to go through and figure out all the different possibilities of your email account.
Your settings will determine all the options for your account, feel free to to go in and to change your settings, this will only affect your account, it won’t affect any other accounts on the email platform, your sign out button should always be used as closing a browser, it effectively breaks the connection.
