Welcome to jion’s employee manual builder online, I’m going to give you a quick demo of how it works and show you how easy it is to create an employee policy manual using a plain manual builder online.

First, we click the little employee handbook tab on the upper right side here to open up the employee manual and we get to the employee policies handbook page, the first thing you’ll do is to click add a new handbook.

Next we’re going to choose the state, you’re in the way, the system works in the background to let you know when we edited our editor behind the scenes for building, this product has 50 check boxes under each section, east policy section.

So we can create the policy, copy, save it as check the box for a different state and customize every single policy for every single state which is cool, so that way we’ve been able to customize this for your state and continue providing updates state by state.

So let’s start by adding a state for you, let’s pick Hawaii, it sounds to be a time to go to the beach, so we’re going to do, click Next and then we’re going to give your policy or your handbook a name, so I’m going to call it the G on well G on handbook, no company name on that young handbook.

You can describe whatever you want to call it, this is the Hawaiian version and go next here and we call the company’s name, I’m going to put G on demo in here to show you where it appears later on.

My name is Berk Franklin and I’m going to be taking you through this, I’ll put my name in as the HR manager today and the footer of the document, we give you an option to put in whatever you want, you could call it, copy, write whatever you want to call 2015.

We’ll do next here filling this all in and then it opens up to the page all the employee manual parts, so first let me take you through how this works fundamentally, here’s your menu on the left hand side, you can close that, give yourself some more workspace.

If you like to reopen it to be able to look at it, you click on the different sections going down the left side, what can you do? For example, you can click on introduction one, click work, open it up, what you’ll see is the whole section, you can edit, you’ll see some places where we’ve highlighted some things and give you a variable.

So employee policies are going to be posted on the bulletin board in a lunchroom, so I’m going to leave that alone and then I’m going to go in, I’m going to take that background out, because we don’t need that anymore, that’s customized.

Let me get that to check the right box here for that and that shows up that way, so now you can see the whole thing, if you want to edit, if you want a delete, you can simply delete the whole sentences and edit it that way.

You can type in, forgive my typing, but I’m not going to type anything real here, but show you that you can type in there, when you have done with that, click Save and that will save all your work in that section if you want some ideas.

But the meaning behind this should be the instructions that go with the page, wave your mouse over the eye for information here and it gives you the explanation of what’s going on in this template, this button here will enable you to export to a Word documents, you take all the checked sections here and export to a Word document.

You’ll also see after I edit this introductory section and save it, it adds a little icon to this to show you that’s been edited and we show the last date updated up here in the upper right-hand side to give you an idea of when it was last updated.

These other buttons show you that you can insert a link, you can insert an image, you can print this section out, I won’t do that, but you can click here to preview, see what it looks like, that’s the idea that you’re going to see what that looks like.

You can change the text color, any color you want, you can put a background color in any color you want and the formatting is all here, you can change fonts, we put it all in Georgia.

If you want to add a new section, for example, we want to add something under introduction or a sit under company overview, I’ll change the different ones, you’d open different one, whatever is the gray area?

Click the green folder and this will insert a blank document in that new section, we’ll call it new doc and here you can go in and type whatever you want, the headings we’ve been using are a font families Helvetica 14-point bold and we’ve put them all in this blue color here.

So you see that under there if you want to add the the horizontal line which we’ve done consistently throughout, then you want to start typing in whatever you’re going to type in this page, what we’ve used here is Georgia twelve point and we’ve justified it, so it looks pretty throughout, that’s basically how you can edit a page.

In order to change the heading, we take our mouse to the top up here, click the little Edit symbol and we’re going to type in something else, you want to save it and voila there, it appears down here now.

If you want to move these around these green arrows, for example, I want to move something else and it’s not a subset of company overview, I’m going to move it to the left, if I want to move it up, I can do that.

The other green arrows cause that, you keep moving it up and backwards and forest, you’ll figure out how to get this and put it the order where you think it should be, we think it’s in order of where it belongs to.

We’ve included all these different sections or more than 200 policies in here and where they come from as customers like you call up and say what about this, if we don’t have the policy covered, we create the policy with our experts and lawyers and add it to it.

The next thing you’ll do is that you go in and you’ll check all the sections, what you do is that you can go through here and find the ones you want to include will include all of them, we’re going to uncheck the sections you don’t want.

You don’t do bonding, you’ve got an office, but no store under the store, a few of these things like we have question marks and some of these policies that are not used very much, some of them are the ones we recommend against.

But if you insist or have some reasons for it, at least we had given you something to work with, it looks good, that sounds right, but we recommend if you don’t have a second or third shift, you wouldn’t have that undo it.

Compensatory time off is one of those things, when do you make your payroll semi-monthly? I’ll say bi-weekly, so we undo the other’s complaints and grievances are typically with a union shop.

If you have that, you want to include that, they’re more granular extra copy, extra text, extra policy and they’re about that depending on the retirement benefits you may offer or not simply uncheck those, I’m unchecking these things, people haven’t purchased up from you.

The other big choice to make in here is whether you’re going use PTO paid time off or personal time off sick time of vacation and the way PTO works, if you don’t know about this, it is PTO encompasses personal time off sick time and vacation, so rather than giving people separate time for being sick, separate vacation time, separate personal time, you get X number of days off per year, you can use them.

However, you can be sick during those days, but if you’re not sick, you know the part of where the practical application is, this comes in, it rewards people for not being sick, but often times, people have had to go to the weekend and then want to call in sick on Monday, those unscheduled sick days that are unannounced.

In this way, it compels people to be a little more conscious about choosing their days about why you would waste a perfectly good day off, because you don’t feel like it, you feel like working on that day, you’re going to save your personal time off as much as possible for a good vacation.

That’s what I think you’re going do, so we recommend PTO in that case, you’re going turn off personal time, sick time and vacation, so that’s how that works, if we’re back to something else and we don’t want to use something else, we’re going to delete this section, you click the big red X and it goes away, you have it, that’s how the employee manual is going to work.
