Description: The following article is mainly designed to concentrate on the heatedly discussed topic on target employee schedule. The author is primarily going to talk about how he got a job at Target and share with us about the first day when he went to work. We can see some details about the working process.
Today I’m going to be talking about how I got a job at Target and my first day there, this is a little bad quality, I’m recording on my iPhone, I live on my iPad, because my phone’s true.
I applied at Target online and they called me in for an interview, I’m two weeks after I applied and then I went on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., I went there and I wasn’t the only one, I got interviewed twice, they asked a bunch of scenario questions basically at the interviews like what you would do if this customer came up to you, ask you about your schedule like when you can worry about junior high school.
so I don’t have open availabilities only after school, so I told him that we could make that work, that was the first interview and then they sent me back to the break room and then they called me in for a second interview which uses a bunch of scenarios and stuff.
Then they told me to go back in the break room and then someone came, cut, came and got me and then we got a room and she told me this was the position you were going to be doing.
So I was going to be a cashier and they were going to pay me $12.50 an hour and then they told me that I was going to come in for orientation, they were going to call me when they wanted me to come in.
So that’s what happened and they called me to come in tomorrow which is today at 8:30 and come a little earlier, because I had to bring in my passport, because I don’t have my California ID, I went to DMV and gotten something and bring my school ID to prove this is who I am, I’m not faking it.
So I go to the target office and I’m here for orientation and they go ahead, sit down in the break room, I’m going to come in there and be the orientation person today, so we sat down in the break room at the back of the break room and she covered it up.
So people who were going to take a break didn’t get distracted by doing our intention and firstly signed like a bunch of papers, the other lady gives me thingy with my name on it, so I put it on, it’s magnetic, so I take this and put in the back and put this in the front.
We had to wear uniforms to orientation, because it looks professional, I’m going to wear a red shirt and khakis, after all that we got to watch this little movie thing, it wasn’t a movie, it wasn’t even that long, it was 15 minutes long and it showed what target is all about.
That’s a big deal and it’s called vibe and that’s how you like vibe with the customers and you say hi smile, I always help them engage in conversations with them, so they feel comfortable coming back to Target after that 15 to 20 minute video.
I took a store on tour and they showed me like spill stations, showed me what to do in that section, then I asked her whether we are getting our schedule today, we’ll give you a call later, tell you a full schedule and they need a cashier today like the new extra cashier.
I can start working today, I couldn’t start my channel that was four hours there, because orientation took two hours, took my break and got on the cashier flu strain by cashiers there like one or two cashiers.
I’m the team leader for that as sales floor associates and stuff like that, like a team leader, like the person who’s always looking out, make sure you know you’re doing, she gave me this past year in training packet and I have to read it.
So when it was my turn to do cash sharing and I was being supervised by one of the cashiers, it was like a fast-paced type of thing, go fast and it is so neat at the same time and you have to get things organized.
I’m going to get used to it, it’s like one of those things, it’s easy, but it’s life, it gets used to it, they still haven’t call me about my schedule, I feel that they will call me soon and that was my first time working at Target, I haven’t worked at any retail store, this is like the first experience for me, I worked with kids, so it’s totally different, it’s not that bad, it is something I’ll get used to and I hope this video helped you out.
