Description: This passage is mainly about evolve elsevier login. In this passage, the writer helps us set up the Evolve account, access the resources and access simchart which we’ll need for the charting during clinical and lab.
This is Professor Lunsford, this is going to be a first in a series of articles to help you set up your Evolve account, access your resources and access simchart which you’ll need for your charting during clinical and lab, these are all going to be posted to YouTube, and if you’re here and reading this, then you’ve navigated here successfully.
So the first thing that we need to do is to set up an evolve account, here is the web address, it’s going to be HTTPS, and it’s evolve dot Elsevier dot com, if you type in evolve Elsevier com into your web browser searcher, it should come up.
Now a couple of points about that evolve and simchart work well on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, they work well on Safari, if you have an Apple device or other mobile devices, it also works well on puffin which is a relatively new browser, most everything works well as well as Explorer.
But there are a few features within simchart that don’t get along with Explorer well, so you have plenty of browsers out there to choose from without choosing that particular one, so we’ve got evolve elsevier com and you’re going to click on login, and you won’t have an account up here yet, so you’re going to click here where it says Create Account.
Then you’re going to click the student radio button and you’re going to fill in your first and last name and a password, now you won’t have a user name, in this way this works, you will assign your user name as you go to the next step, when you hit submit, it’s going to ask for your email address, it’s the email address that you’re going to use.
I encourage you to use the email address that you’re going to check most often, as a student you will have a PS CC email address, you may certainly use that or you can use your personal email address, but whichever one that you want to check most frequently should be the one that you choose.
The reason for that is once you start into simchart and submit clinical assignments, when your instructors grade those assignments, you’ll get an email back which tells you that the assignment has been graded and it’s ready for you to read, so that’s why you want to be sure that you use the account where you most frequently check.
I wish to receive special offers and promotions from Elsevier that is certainly your choice whether to do that or not, please use a password that you’re going to remember easily, I would encourage you to use the same password for all your school systems, because you’re going to be going in and out of evolve and FA Davis learning and a couple of other programs.
So I’m going to close that because I already have an account, once you get to the next step of creating your account, it’s going to ask you the school that you’re affiliated with, please put that in there because that will help when we start putting in your codes, once you’re logged in, I’ll give this a minute here.
This should be the screen, you can see a redeem access code, it is what you’re going to do when you put your books in and when you put your simchart in, so when you get your books from the bookstore and when you get your simchart code from the bookstore, there are going to be access codes in the front of all of the books.
As you start entering access codes, then you have access to those resources and simchart, so let’s talk about your keys book for your first semester, the only book that you’re going to be using is that evolve keys book, so it’s going to come up and it’s going to be resource ID number.
One important point that I want you to be sure to do is that when you’re registering and you are putting in that course code, be sure that you check resources not the e-book, I want to say that be sure that you check resources not the e-book, because by checking resources that’s free, it’s not going to charge you anything.
If you try to buy the e-book and it’s going to charge you money, and you don’t need to do that, what you’ve chosen to do is to get an e-book instead of the paperback and the bookstore can help you with that.
If you have any questions about this, please shoot me an email, it’s a Lunsford at PST CC edu, and you’re all going to have that on the flyer that’s given to you during orientation, thank you and I hope you have a great day.
