Description: This passage is mainly about express scripts login. In this passage, the writer tells us how to set up the foot pedal and load the dictations through a USB port, which is very simple to do that.
Welcome to the Express scribe software tutorial on setting up your foot pedal and loading your dictations, you will want to make sure that your foot pedal is set up that it is hooked up to your computer through a USB port, it is very simple to do that, you’ll want to take the cord that’s on your foot pedal and then hook it up directly to your computer.
Once this is done, you can click on the control foot pedal setup wizard by going to the options menu, and then on the controller options menu, you’ll see the controller option tab and then you’ll see the controller setup wizard, once you do this, it’s going to ask you a few questions, it’s going to want to know what kind of foot pedal that you have.
It’s going to want to know how many pedals that it has, most of them have three, and you’ll also want to choose the USB one or USB 2 and usually it’s infinity, once you do this, it’s going to ask you to push the rewind and the fast-forward and the play to test the foot pedal, and make sure that it is working properly and that the pedals are set up to your preferences of which ones that you want for each rewind fast-forward and play.
If you have any problems with setting this up, then go back and do the foot pedal setup wizard again, once you’ve done this, you should be ready to load the dictation, in loading the dictation, it’s very simple, you need to go to the file and then load dictation from the menu, or you can click directly on the load button.
Once you do this, it’s going to bring up a window for you to load the dictation, you’ll want to click on the lower yellow folder, and then once you do that, you’re going to locate the actual dictations on your computer that you want to load, some people will keep a specific folder for the doctor that they’re transcribing for with the dictation z in there.
Others will have them in my documents or desktop, once they’re practicing web, you will want to click on the actual dictation file, you want to load or files, you can do multiple files by holding down your ctrl key on your keyboard and then clicking on the multiple files, if you want to load one, then you will need to click on the individual file.
Once you do this, you’ll have the option to load the dictation files, please understand that the load button will be selected until you’ve selected a dictation file from your folder, once you do this, then the load button will become clickable and then you can load the dictation files into your dictation window.
If you do everything properly, then the dictation file or files that you choose will show up here in the dictation area, if you do not see the file there, you need to go back and repeat the steps, this is going to show you what dictation files that you have loaded that can be played and used through Express scribe and your foot pedal.
Now you should be able to use your foot pedal, at this point to play fast-forward and rewind these files, click on the file that you want to listen to to transcribe and it will highlight, and then you should be able to take it from there as far as with your foot pedal.
Now one thing to keep in mind is that this window is big, you do not want it to hoover over your Microsoft Word when you’re transcribing your medical dictation, so what you want to do is that either up at the top there’s a little button called scribe mini, and with scribe mini it will create a little bar that will hoover up in the corner of your computer.
In that way, you don’t have this huge window hanging around, the other option is to minimize Express scribe and in order to minimize, you click up the little minus button in the right-hand corner and it will minimize, Microsoft Word is one of the preferred word processors in doing the actual transcribing of the dictation.
When you minimize the Express scribe, you should have your Microsoft Word already open and ready to go, this is presented by M T at home, it teaches you how to connect your digital footprint and how to load your dictation files.
