That’s $100 a month, with Google Fiber it’s $70 and you get one gigabit per second upload and download, there’s no comparison, Verizon isn’t any better, for this new instant Internet plan they told you 149 dollars, this is more than twice the cost of Google Fiber.
It gives less speed, if you want $70 from Google Fiber, you get one gigabit per second, that is offered in New York, there has been petitions made by various people to implement Google fiber in New York City, some of the reasons for this being is in Brooklyn as a tech enthusiast being on the brink of new technology is vital to my job.

Competition is the activity or condition of competing, competition works in much more simpler terms, one company has their product, their product is taking a lark by storm and having all the market share, another company sees the opportunity, brings in their product to compete with that product.
Then another company comes and sees that there’s more opportunity, they bring their new product, these three companies are competing at each other, these companies have to innovate in new ways to capture more people, so the first one creates an all-new service, it’s cheaper.
In New York there are Time Warner Cable or Verizon or optimum, that’s the situation in New York, they have a monopoly, they have everything, especially they have Verizon with the new fiber service, optimum is the old DSL, it’s the old brother.
They have an advanced technology, they have Verizon FiOS, it is the only fiber service available in New York besides Time Warner Cable, their prices are also unbelievable, these two companies can charge whatever they want, there’s no competition, there are no small companies, no other companies, no new companies coming in to compete with these companies.
They’re taking in all the market share, that’s what we as New Yorkers have to deal with, we can’t do anything, there are only two companies, competition drives companies to give better products, better prices and better overall everything.
When you don’t have competition, there’s no incentive to do better, we have two companies, two big mammoths have a monopoly, Google Fiber and other fiber companies have great opportunity, in New York we have regulations that stop companies from coming in and entering in and shaking up the playing field. That’s probably why Google Fiber has not come to New York yet.
