This article talks about some aspects, like food, weather, activities and education about GCU, which is considered as a traditional Christian College. It will give you a comprehensive understanding of it.
This time I want to talk about GCU and I think this video could help so first, GCU is considered a private Christian college or Christian university, I went to public school all my life, so I had never experienced any Christian teachings or biblical views within lessons at school, but I am a Christian and there’s plenty of people with different views and religions that come here, whether they believe in God or not.
The food is fantastic here and it is getting warm here, there is gorgeous sunset, but without many trees around, compared to Pacific Northwest, it is like a desert here. However, there is a lot of cool hiking and a lot of fun things to do outside.
Another thing I want to talk about is everything surrounding GCU and then I’ll dive into actual programs here, the classes, teachers and all that experience. First, there are many cool places to visit, a lot of cool places to eat. Scottsdale has a huge mall to go to, which is fun. If you are coming here, I recommend getting a car or making friends with someone who has a car and is willing to drive you around and go on adventures.
The campus is big comparing to others, and you have your Dining Dollars which you are able to use at Panda Express and Jamba Juice, there is a subway, and a frozen yogurt place, I mean the campus has a lot to offer.
You can have a great view from our window, which is cool, especially when you go up to the higher portions of the building where you can see the sunset, sunrise. If you are away, the campus also offers boot camp and there’s a bowling alley, a bunch of ping-pong tables, a pool and darts, soccer fields, sand volleyball courts as well, but you can’t use them when there are teams practicing. I’ve had a lot of fun here, there’s only one bathroom and it’s shared and then you share a living space in the middle.
I was studying digital sound, if you’re choosing a certain career, you don’t need a college degree or a college education because you already know this stuff, you can self teach, that’s how I learned
literally everything. Like the video I’m doing, I taught myself, I mean by watching other videos on the YouTube, I know about video making in YouTube and social media marketing and all this stuff. But if you’re looking to go more beyond a videographer and a freelancer, if you want to go into movie production, for example, I think GCU is a good place for you to get a degree.
There are a lot of things for movies and production of movies, I chose the digital film major, and everyone who I met in my major are great and the programs are is interesting. I like all the classes that I’ve taken, but I don’t like my English class or sociology class and everything that doesn’t pertain to my major. But I know GCU is one of the highest, the best schools for nursing so if you’re applying for a nursing major, I believe this is good for you.
The curriculums and education here are a little bit biblical, and some students may or may not believe that, some professors don’t believe in it too, but they still come here, so the main point is whether you believe it or not, I don’t think it should hinder you from coming here because they do offer a variety of things and it doesn’t shove you down, they pay attention to your future and career.
So make sure you choose something you want, you’re going to enjoy and you want to study so there are certain teachers I recommend to be aware of and to try not have because I’ve heard awful things about them. The number one teacher is Raquel Lopez, I believe she’s a math teacher, everyone who has her hates her and I don’t think she should be a teacher, especially not a university professor, she’s insane.
So hope this will help and hope you enjoy your stay at GCU.
