We are going to be clearly shown by some steps to login to the student portal and then we can be given the information to access the CCS student portal, finally we can also see some important reminders for the situation when we have some related problems with the system.
This is Karla and I’m here to show you a little bit about the student portal, when you first come to the portal, it’s going to ask you to sign in, you should use the email address and password that you used, when you created your application, if you don’t recall what that password is, click on the button here and we’ll send you an email to reset it, then go ahead and sign it.
The next thing you’ll see is this landing page with several tabs at the top with different information on each one, if you scroll down to the bottom, you can see the digital version of your admission letter, you can see information about the events that you may be registered for.
You can also click on the events calendar link, if there are other events that you would like to register for or to see dates, when we offer things, the black spots on the calendar means we offer an event and these information sessions are the amazing way to get a great feel for what CCS is all about.
You can also join the class of 2020 to Facebook page, using this link, this is a nice way to meet other people who are interested in CCS and who are planning to attack, if you click on the second tab called major spotlight, you can get information about your specific major including contact information for your chair.
If you want to reach out and introduce yourself, watch the videos and see the information about our alumni and our faculty and if you have an interest in other areas as well, click on the image at the bottom of the page which will take you to information about all of our different majors.
The CCS life tab is where you’ll find information about living on campus, you can take a virtual tour, you can watch a few videos and see much more information about Detroit under than my future tab, I’m sorry the next steps tab, there are a few things that you should keep in mind, there’s a button here to show you what our laptop requirements are and which majors require them to do.
We do have a requirement for the advertising design, advertising copywriting and communication design majors, so be sure to check that out, we will also have a link here for completing the housing application, once you’ve positive, there’s also information about what comes next.
I know many of you are eager about getting registered, here are a few things you can do registration, it begins in April or soon after you have deposited, if it’s after April, you can review tuition fees and financial aid information here.
You can fill out the housing application here and you can get details about our mandatory, New Student Orientation here, also in this box here, keep this information handy, this is going to be helpful for you, when you’re getting ready to start logging in to see CSS internal systems, your ccs login ID and ccs password are important and that information will appear here.
But keep in mind if you change your password, it won’t show up anymore, because you can also see your private information, your student email address, you can log in to blackboard which is our internal course and student information access center using your logon ID and password or you can log into your ccs email.
Our academic advising and registration office will be sending your class schedule to your CCS email as soon as it’s ready, so start checking it, if you need to discuss accommodations, there’s information here and then below that is information and a general calendar timeline of what’s going to happen next.
Under my future tab, you can view images and videos about what our alumni is doing in the world and then under the contact us tab is information on how to reach out to any of the offices that can answer your questions.
Certainly, the admissions team is always here to help you, but if you want to reach out to financial aid or academic advising and registration or our international student services office, then there is also information here, you should make sure that you join our CCS social networks, there’s tons of information being shared daily, we look forward to having you on campus.
