Description: This is an interview of Lauren Collins who is in charge of the Northern Pass project of the Eversource Energy as well as some heated questions about the project and the company.
This is an interview of Lauren Collins. We have heard much about the Northern Pass, especially from the opposition of this project, and in the terms of that, Mrs.Collins doesn’t seem like to know why there are a few people who have been upset about it, the Northern Pass is designed to help people. There is no reason why there should be any opposition, besides, she thinks it’s only a few people that are making fuss about things.
It’s been said that the Northern Pass opposition would go away if she agrees to bury it entirely. Mrs.Collins thinks that there is no comparison between running the transmission lines through a mushy spongy lake bed versus New Hampshire’s hard as rock granite. There is no bonehead could discern that it’s not cost-effective.
It’s also been said that if you use the already softened shoulders of I-93 and old railway beds, you wouldn’t have a granite issue. Mrs.Collins says that add NeverSource, they want to invest the least amount of time, effort and company expense. They want to suck the life out of those they want to exploit.
Is exploitation how you justify continually raising NH’s electric rates? When it’s cold, people need more heat, so it’s the perfect opportunity for them to increase the rates and stick it to the ratepayers. The rates may go up a bit but nothing to put anybody on welfare, or homeless out on the street. She thinks we are relying heavily on the natural gas.
