As you can imagine,it’s hard for Diana’s family to talk about this, almost a year after her disappearance. Now they’re learning about a disturbing confession made by the man who they suspect took her .
This memorial for Diana Alvarez is still in her family’s backyard. Her mother Rita has dreamt about her coming home. I’ve dreamt about her playing with my hair. She loved doing my hair. She came back from school and said, I’m back.
But her reality is different. She spends her days thinking about her missing daughter. You start to think where she can be. Has she eaten? Is she hungry? It’s hard seeing her little friends playing.
May 29th 2016, Dianna disappeared from their home in San Carlos. Their ex-roommate, Jorge Guerrero immediately became a suspect, he was arrested after police found explicit pornographic pictures of a child on his phone.
Newly available court documents revealed, he admitted that they were of Diana. The documents also detail a confession made by Guerrero. He admitted he engaged in sexual activity with Diana on a weekly basis after he moved into her home. He told investigators bad things happen when he smoked crystal. He was scared, because he knows it’s not normal to be sexually active with a nine-year-old girl.
She’s a nine year old girl. She’s not a grown woman. The pain I’m feeling as a mother, it’s unbearable. The information is disturbing and heartbreaking for her mother. It’s one of the only updates she’s gotten about the case which has left the family in the dark.
With lack of information, Diana’s family keeps praying a memorial of stuffed animals, still in their neighborhood and continues growing, as they hold out hope Diana’s still alive. Her mother pleads with Guerrero to help them find her.
If you know where my daughter is. Confess. I’m no one to judge him. God will judge him. Now despite that confession, the family’s attorney tells me that they’re going to need physical evidence to link Guerrero to Diana’s disappearance. Guerrero’s lawyer is going to try to get all that evidence found on his phone thrown out in court.
That court appearance will happen on April 20th. We’re going to continue following this story. Fox 4 will be at that hearing to bring you the latest updates on air and online at Fox 4 now.com. Sam Sosa Fox 4 in your corner.
