Today we’re going to talk about one of my pet peeves, so I meet with business owners all the time, and I can’t tell you the amount of times. I’ve looked at their websites, their social medias, or their business cards. And their businesses are at Gmail.com or Yahoo or hotmail, and it seems to be very cheap and unprofessional.
So I’m going to show you how to use G suite from Google. So for five bucks a month, you can create a business email, which will make you much more professional. So why don’t we hop on the computer? I’ll show you how it’s done. Let’s check out G suite and get started.
So there’s a 14-day free trial, it’s a business email for burger drawing. It’s now located in the U.S. cranny mail Jasper or joy at Yahoo. I have a domain of burger joint com. Next is my name. Thanks. I could do information, I could do burger drawing. Let’s set a password. Next I’m not a robot. Our vehicles create accounts.
Account has been created, go to setup, add people to start, this create users for your team. I’ve got one now. I have added all users. Email address is currently used, so it is very easy in the admin panel to set up other emails, if you want to add other people on your team or add information or add something else.
So now, the next part you need to verify and tell Google is that you’re the owner of this domain. So it’s going to take you through a few different steps. Let’s see that verify by adding meta tag, if you don’t understand what a meta tag is. I think adding the main host record is probably the easiest way.
It says OK, it knows that I have bought the Namecheap, open the Namecheap website, login and then it gives you other methods. So I have already logged in. I’ve opened the control panel. Then add a new text record to your domain. So let me show you how to do this.
Here’s my domain and it’s going to be a little bit different, depending on where you bought it. But it’s very similar and there are usually tutorials if you Google how to do this. Google will teach you where to buy the domain. Let’s go back, so burger joint managed and then in DNS.
I’m DNS, what I would want to do is to add a record and then if we go back, it says that add a new text record. So let’s see what it gives us. Name text record host is the @ symbol and then what’s next is this whole thing. I’m missing the G paste then it says OK. I add and save it. It has been saved.
I even refresh this page and make sure that it is similar to the text record. I have saved it. Go to the control panel. I’ve opened the control panel for my domain, create new MX records. It seems a little complicated. Let me walk you through. It’s not so bad. So they are MX records.
Let’s go down. I miss something. So if you have any problems, there are always detailed instructions. You can open up the control panel and then the next records. Next, Namecheap, setup key sweet, text records. There’s a mail setting that I need to find.
So you can see mail settings down here, so up here is where I change the DNS and add the text record. You scroll down mail settings and here you can do custom MX record. So let’s see what it says. It says Priority One. And this says add another host at priority five, and then add another priority 5, then that’s paste 5.
There’s at priority 10 and paste one more. That’s priority 10, and click check. So I have done all these priority records. I can hit refresh and I have one two three four five MX records. I have the text record and it asks me to do. As you can see, I created new MX records. There weren’t any MX records to begin with, if I had that hosted somewhere else.
I have to delete those and then add the new ones, so skip this and then I save the MX records. Then verified to main and setup email, so the email is set up. Now it’s going to verify domain verification, email setup, complete.
I think there are two different plans. One is the business one, which I think that has unlimited storage for me. I’ve used the G suite basic and I haven’t run out of space yet. So let’s go with this. So five dollars a month for one user now.
I’ve read the agreements and this has set everything up after the trial. So business chefs, burger joint and my name. So now it’ll ask me to put in my credit card information. With this, you don’t have any interruption.
If you start using this email, it’s not going to stop working after the 14-day trial ends. So I add my billing information. There’s no interruption of service, and it seems that they’re going to work. If I want some other services that I don’t think I need now.
Let’s check. I have Jeff burger joint and then my password. I accept all this. Welcome to your business email. So sometimes with all the stuff, with setting up, with where you bought the domain and everything else, this might take a day to start sending and receiving emails.
But it seems that everything is here. If you go to the admin console at any point, if you want to add other people, you can change the email. It’s very self-explanatory to do all that. So I hope that it will help you. Now for the question of the day, what I want to know from you is that we’re going to start doing a lot of articles around social media.
If you can write in the comment section in which social media network you have the largest audiences, Facebook, Instagram, snapchat or LinkedIn. I’m leaving the comments section and we’ll know where to focus in some of our future articles. So if you want to see more articles from us, there will be a couple of them over here. If you haven’t subscribed to our channel, please do that up at the corner. Thanks until next time bye.
