Description: The article is mainly designed to give the explanation of benefits of EOB and covers what Healthfirst login is responsible for and the ways on how to understand the benefits of it.
Thank you for being a valued health first member. Today we’ll go over a document called the explanation of benefits or EOB. You’ll receive an EOP in the mail any time you use a healthcare service such as visiting a provider or filling a prescription.
An EOB is not a bill, instead, it’s a summary of the services you received and a breakdown of the cost-sharing between health first your provider and you. Yogi is also available online through my health first accounts under the claims tab in the event that you owe money for a covered service.
You may get a separate bill from your health care provider for cost-sharing amounts, such as co-pays or coinsurance to verify your being built correctly to confirm that you are an active health first member on the date of the service and to check if the healthcare provider has your correct insurance information. If you have insurance coverage with another company in addition to health first, be sure to tell your doctor and both insurance companies.
So they can coordinate payment to make sure that the amount you were billed is consistent with the cost-sharing amounts associated with your health first plan and cost sharing amounts, such as co-pays coinsurance and your deductible can be found in your schedule of benefits or evidence of coverage which are available online through my health first account and were mailed to you in your welcome kits.
If you believe you’ve been overcharged, you can submit a claim through my health first account or contact health first Member Services and we’ll look into the issue for you if the claim was denied by health first.
You can also ask your provider to appeal the denial as always health first is here to help, if you have any questions or concerns, give us a call and visit us in person at one of our health first community offices. Thank you for reading and thank you for choosing health first.
