Welcome to the demonstration of the user side of the Android vehicle tracking. The system is used to keep a track of the vehicle such as fuel and maintenance. For example, a company has many cars, but keeping a track of every car is difficult. It is difficult to trace the current location or current details regarding the vehicle whenever the company owner needs it.
In the system we have used a background service, whenever the driver or the app user logs into the app, the location details will be sent to the administration in every 10 seconds. Then the owner can have the details of filling fuel and maintenance which were done by the drivers. Let’s see how it works.
This is the log-in page, there is no registration page, as the administration will add the user. That’s log-in. Now we see a toast message saying that your coordinates are sent in every 10 seconds. This is the dashboard showing the name of the driver, the vehicle number and allowing him to notify the owner about the service and fuel. So let’s add some fuel.
We have to enter the bill number, the amount of petrol or diesel. For example, the bill amount is extra, we will get 40 litre, the bill amount is around 450. It is done, we submit. So the fuel is added. Let’s add some service details. This is a bill number, the amount may go around five thousand. Let’s submit, so these two are sent to the admin. Let’s shut down the app, we will still see the coordinates sent. You can still receive the message that your coordinates are sent.
That is when you log into the background, service starts until you log out, otherwise it won’t stop. So let’s click on it. Since you logged in, you will be direct to the dashboard. Let’s click on log-out. As you see, there is no toast message, the background service has been stopped. So now we switch to administration part of Android vehicle tracking system.
As you can see, this is the log-in page for the administration where you can identify as an administrator by entering the credentials. If the administrator or the authorized person is new to this system, he will need to register by clicking on register button. The page will redirect to registration form where the administrator or the authorized person needs to fill in all the details and set the password according to the password conditions.
When the administrator enters a password, it will notify the administrator about the password. It accepts minimum six characters. So administrator needs to enter a strong password in order to give this system safe.
I have the registered credentials, I will log into the system. After clicking on log-in, this system will check for the administrator’s credentials from the database. If the credentials are present in database, then administrator will be redirected to the driver’s registration page.
Here are the five models which administrator can access. The first model is driver registration where administrator needs to fill the details about the driver. Let’s enter details. After entering all the details, I will need to click on submit button. The addition is done for that driver. We’ll click OK.
The second model is strike vehicle. The administrator or the authorized person can track the vehicle associated with the driver’s name. So these Android apps of Android vehicle tracking are installed into the drivers’ mobile phone. As long as the driver log into that Android app, the application will start sending this longitude and latitude which is stored into the database to track the vehicles. We need to select the driver’s name and the date to drag the vehicle.
We can see that there is no present data in the database for that date. Now we will select the different date as August 31st, we’ll track the vehicle for that date. The page is redirected to the Google Maps where we can see a pinpoint. If we zoom into it, we will get to know the locations. So this is a demonstration of points on the map.
As the driver moves from one location to another, it will draw a line from source to destination. As the driver moves to different place, it will continue to draw the line on the map. So administrator or the authorized person would be able to know where the driver was on that day. So we’ll go back to the project.
The third model is real details. Administrator checks for the fuel details by selecting the vehicle number. We can see the fuel details, the driver is Ram Singh with vehicle number one two three, he refilled the fuel of 123 rupees on the first of September. So the administrator would get total amount with a bar chart below.
If the administrator wants to select any date or month, he can select the first date and the last date of that month and click on proceed button. We can see the data of that month from the two selected dates. The total amount is calculated automatically for that period. The bar chart is shown according to the selected dates.
Let’s move on to vehicle maintenance. It’s a similar model to pure details. The administrator can track maintenance details by selecting the vehicle number. The data for that vehicle number is shown here with bar chart. If administrator wants to select any two dates, they can click on project button.
We’ll scroll down to see details. Here are the details where administrator can see the data between two selected dates, the total amount and the bar chart. The system model is bill drivers where administrator or the authorized person can view the details of the registered drivers with name, contact number, address vehicle number and so on.
