First our support courses listed in the course catalog under W CSS covers topics ranging from graduate writing and APA to critical thinking and academic integrity, our workshops offer students an opportunity to revise and edit their doctoral proposals through lengthy weekly feedback from a writing faculty member.
Next the academic skills center offers tutoring services in areas such as statistics, SPSS, math and Excel, tutoring is available for free to all Walden students, some of which specialize in working with students who are using quantitative statistical data in their dissertations.
The e-guide is the companion website to the student readiness orientation which is referred to as the SRO, this guide is an easily navigable link-based resource available on the academic skills centers website.
The e-guide contains the information in SR 0 plus additional links to more Walden resources, our popular skill builder series has sequence live webinars focused on topics such as statistics, microsoft office software and other areas, we invite you to join us for any or all of the sessions of interest to you and applicable to your studies.
Next the academic skills centers website and YouTube channel offer resources and how-to tutorials on a variety of topics which is important to success of many students at Walden, we update these resources regularly so we suggest that you subscribe to our YouTube channel and check out our website frequently, those are the best ways to stay informed about our newest content uploads.
Finally, the Turnitin program checks students’ works to make sure it follows academic integrity standards regarding plagiarism and proper citation, the Academic Skills Center hosts a turn in drop box that is not linked to the Turnitin database, so students can use our drop box to check their classwork for potential plagiarism and citations that need to be addressed prior to submission.
