Today I’m going to build a solar filter for this camera. This technique can be applied to a DSLR or a telescope. I purchased some solar films. We’re going to take the tan and we’re going to dip the corner in it. We spin it around, we will get a good coverage. Squeeze on those. We need to make it become a 50/50 ratio. I’m going to zoom in, it doesn’t focus all the time. I want to show you the chip bag filter. You can see all the cracks and the dots from the printing on the outside. That little red blemish in the center is the sun. When I zoom in, it will not get clearer.

One thing which I learned from the chip bag filter is that a small portion of the film should be used even though the lens is large. It’s focused down to a very small point. I could start with a can with a hole in it. Then I could add a small piece of mylar over the end. So stick around for the next content.
