Thank you very much for being here today, I’m Sara Blanchard VP of customer engagement here at benefits and I’m here with Kelly Morrison who de Sales Leader over here at benefits and here is not about some exciting things that we unveiled in New York last week in an event that we held HR 1.
But first I want to talk to you a little bit about how we got there, as you know, we host our first user conference which means v2 in October here in San Francisco, HR 1 comes three months after that’s released, here’s a reminder about what we unveiled at z2.
We did a massive product upgrade across all areas of the Nunavut solutions that truly redefined all-in-one HR 3 things to highlight here, our redesigned, you may have seen that all of your pages in benefits have a very similar look and you have an overview at the top and very similar things as you go across whether you’re looking at PTO time and attendance or any of our other proprietary products.
We also launched 17 integrated platform partners and we created a developer platform which will allow other partners to partner with us through our open api, so you’ll be seeing a lot more partnerships come to our platform.
Here are the carafe that we launched, we’re excited about it, payroll is unlike any payroll application you have ever used, it’s more seamlessly integrated than anything on the market, we also added some additional features for our benefits.
We continue to make huge investments in our benefits product and launched a new modern ecommerce shopping experience that lets you quickly find the best plans across thousands of plans and hundreds of carriers mobile.
We launched a brand new Android app and a new version of our iPhone apps that post HR in the pockets of your employees, it gives them access to the information that they need when they need it.
We’re excited, it is now 20%, our users are accessing benefits on their mobile and that is quickly growing, the reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, so tasting some recent awards that we got following the v2 release now on to HR 1.
So I’ll talk about some of the features that we unveiled at HR 1, the industry is first in fully integrated compliance assistance, it gives business owners peace of mind by tracking and managing federal compliance deadlines across HR payroll and benefits.
It gives you as business owners and business administrators, their confidence that you need to run your business without the fear of missing critical federal deadlines, we are doing additional work.
We expect to be unveiling more work on the state and even local level in certain markets, the documents out, this is one of my favorites, this automatically stores important documents collect to us.
It is going to have its workflow such as w2 offer letters employee handbook benefits information and more, all your documents now have a single home with a rest of your HR, the exciting thing about this is that if you have proprietary documents, they’re unique to your business whether it’s about the gym that your employees use or the parking passes, you can store those here too.
It also has excellent permissions and who can access what documents whether it’s someone’s manager or based on security information, we also lost 10 new partner integrations including density’ 401k providers, we have had a lot of requests for this, we have to do 4k providers Priscilla Financial Group and Pai.
We also have productivity tools like box Nirvana and commuter benefits with lists now, I will tell you the list is something we are excited about lifted and the commuter benefits are only live at a few markets now.
The list is continuing to add more markets, as they do, we’re working right alongside them zenefits payroll, we will start accepting benefits payroll and five additional states, so as of now or pre HR one, we were living in California, Florida Texas and Washington and as of March 1st, we will start accepting paid payroll applications in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Colorado and Arizona.
We expect to be live in 30 states by July and hopefully all 50 states by the end of the year, zennith community, this is something near and this is something that we built on my team, the customer engagement team.
This is a place for benefits admins exclusively to come together and thought partner share ideas ideas and give advice to each other on how to build a better workplace, we have had this in beta for the last couple of weeks.
We’re starting to roll this out to all of our admins across the platform, you’ll see this filled out in the next three to five weeks and we’re excited about it.
Then lastly, we have additional features on our mobile apps including employee access to HR documents, the ability to easily submit timesheets and inbox for notifications about HR related actions.

So before I hand it over to Kelly to talk about pricing, this is the world as we see it, so here in the center, you have our benefits bird and then in the circle, you have all of our proprietary apps that we offer and then on the outside, this is our platform parts integrations, I expect you to see the outside grow substantially.
We are not going to slow down in the summer either, so I’m excited about what’s to come, Kelly. I’ll turn it over to you to talk about our pricing, thanks Sara, as Sarah mentioned, we’re excited to announce our simplified pricing model.
This is something that customers have been providing feedback on giving us insight into how they’re utilizing benefits and how they’d like to be billed for those products and services, so today estate of pricing as many of you probably know and there’s a lot of permutation in terms of how many different new products that you have with benefits.
What are you being charged for each which ones? You’re not being charged for that, as we continue to develop and enhance the product, it was only going to get greater, the number of Comedy that you could have into that.
What we’ve done is that we basically created four packages and all of our clients will fall into it as we develop and enhance the platform, we’re going to continue to enhance the packages as well, so today we have everything from bronze to platinum and I’ll walk you through the different packages so that you can understand through how you might be aligned or where you might want to find some additional upgrades and the additional tiers.
So in our bronze package, this is Phil, our free options, this is your basic HR your employee management think of things like you’re hiring your termination flows, Benefits Administration is in every single package.
In addition to the bronze additionally things like the employee or charts, all of your HR files personnel files, those will be housed in the bronze category and that’s no additional cost to you, as we move up the spectrum, you’ll see here that our silver package is five dollars, per employee, per month on an annual contract.
This is your premium HR package, this includes things like PTO ACA, all of the new features that Sarah mentioned including the documents app compliance assistance as well as our HR library, this is significant, as you probably know, Genesis wants eight launched HR advisor doors e2 user conference.
What we’ve done today is that we separated that out, so you have the HR content the tools and resources, that’s built in CHR library that falls into our silver package, the certified HR specialist is falling under a platinum package today.
So as we continue to move up, the spectrum gold is going to be $8 per employee per month on an angel contract and that includes all of the features that I’d alluded to thus far in silver and bronze.
It also includes payroll and then as we approach platinum, this is where you’ll see again everything inclusive of gold silver and bronze as well as that certified HR specialist, so that’s something important to note.
The benefits will be reaching out to you directly to understand how you’re utilizing the platform today any features that you’re missing or looking for and how we can best align you to the appropriate package based on your needs and utilization.
Something that I did want to mention is the all apart or add-on app, so those are the things you’re familiar with today like commuter benefits time and attendance background checks contractor payments eight health savings account health reimbursement accounts.
Those are going to continue to be billed on an ala carte basis and only for the purpose of paying for those employees that are utilizing those services, so those won’t be built into any of the packages as I mentioned this.
In addition to this, because oftentimes you might not have every individual employee participating in time in attendance or in that and the flexible spending account, so we want to charge you for what you’re utilizing.
Here’s a deeper dive on the features that fall underneath each category, what I want to highlight here is that our silver category has the premium HR features that a lot of companies are looking for to take them to the next level in a sense of no compliance assistance.
So ensure that you are staying up to date on this federal compliance deadlines the documents that the easiest way to view and store all of your employee personnel files in an aggregate basis to see what you’re missing, see what you need to request in an HR library which has been a big hit with a lot of our customers looking for that.
There are additional tools and resources to help them manage their workforce on a day to day basis gold will house our party role as I mentioned, as they mentioned, we live in nine states effective March 1st and then in our platinum plan, you’ll be able to upgrade to that certified HR specialist.
So if you have unique questions or advice and consultation on some of those HR compliance matters, you will have a dedicated contact that you can reach out to directly here at benefit, this is the most exciting thing for us to announce, this is our customer loyalty discount.
This allows you to get 18 months for the price of 12 if you sign up for a package in February again, this is something we want to offer to our customers who’ve been with us, we want to give you the opportunity to sign up early and we want to obviously provide you with that effective 33% discount for doing so.
You do have that until May first to make this decision. However, if you sign up in February, you will get 18 months for the price of 12, that’s very important to both Sarah and I, it is obviously the supporting service that we provide here at census, so I want to reassure you that in terms of supporting you, nothing has changed.
This continues to be a primary focus benefit and two of the resources that are highlighting here are the Help Center, this gives you access to content, that’s curated by benefits things, that are relevant to you as an employer to your employees.
A lot of this feedback has been provided from our clients for questions with an A from our clients or their employees, you can also reach out to our support team here at benefits through our contact us button directly within your dashboard.
This will allow to gather information relevant to your account, it will allow us to help you and your employees on an individual level, you can request a call back or you can shoot us an email and we’re happy to help you at any given time with any of those questions that you might have platform or benefits related.
The newest support category is a certified HR specialist that I alluded to earlier one, this is a team of SPHR certified specialist here at benefits that are available to help you with any of this complex, HR needs oftentimes to do as a business owner or as an administrator of HR at a small to mid-sized business.
You would like some additional consultation or some additional resources from either someone outside the organization in terms of employee items or people related items and this is what that’s here for works here for you.
That’s the additional support you’ll receive in platinum, I want to finish up here with some of our frequently asked questions, there’s a lot of information that we went that we’ve gone through if you have any additional questions for us, you are more than welcome to reach out, we will be reaching out real actively to you as well.
You’ll have a point of contacting your dentist to help you through any of these items or questions that you might have, but here are the most common questions that we’ve received so far, so I’ll go through these quickly, how can I learn more about each of the products and so on.
Our site benefits combat fast pricing again, there are going to be a lot of details around the pricing, the packages and their features, there’s going to be one pager available on each of the new products.
But I’d highly encourage you to take a demo when one of my team members reaches out so that we can walk you through and use cases, we can talk you through how the products will work for you and you can see that functionality lives.
When does the new pricing go into effect? The new pricing takes effect on May first, so that’s when the first bill will be provided, if you have not signed up for the early incentive which is happening in February, that’s about 18 months for the price of 12.
Do you offer a free trial? It’s a great question and the answer is no, we have this grandfathering period up until May 1st, so you can continue to use all of the features that you’re utilizing today until that date before having to make that decision.
What happens if I add or remove employees, it’s a great question in terms of if you’re on a monthly contract those employees that you’re adding or removing on monthly basis will be reflected on the next month bill which happens on the first of the following month.
If you’re on an annual contract, as you add employees and we will prorate you for the amount of those employees and we will provide up to you in an invoice on a source of the month following, so with an annual contract, you are paying upfront for all of the employees at that time and then as you increase headcount, we will adjust the bill for that increase in head count on a pro-rated basis.
You’ll see that on the next month, on the next month invoice, do I pay the same for part-time employees? The answer is yes, part-time employees and full-time employees, our invoice exactly the same and per employee per month charge.
When do I get charged for employees? So we build regardless of annual or monthly on the first of the month following annual, you will pay the full amount upfront aside from that increase in headcount my every first month.
I’m not stalling, you will receive an invoice for the employees in your account at that time, what method of payment do you accept? It is a great question and we’re excited to announce that we’re offering stripes generation through benefits which is great news for a lot of our clients.
You can enter in your credit card information directly, the benefits will verify that information and you can proceed through the workflow as for bank account or ACH, we’re still expecting that as well, so it’s up to you, it’s dependent on the company.
What you’d like to utilize them? Both of those options are available to you in terms of adding a payment method, if you go into your company setting your company profile, there is a billing and payment method in the section of your company setting.
So you can add that payment method there, that will be applied towards the passages, it’ll also be applied towards any ala carte items that you may purchase in the future, when am I billed by benefits? It is a great question.
When we talk about your billed on the 1st of the following month, can I switch plans? The answer is absolutely yes, we understand that you may be growing that your needs may change, they may become more simple, they may become more complex benefits which are built to help you scale and help you grow.
We’re here to work with you based on your needs, so you can absolutely upgrade at any given time, what happens is that I don’t make a selection by May 1st, it is a great question in terms of the options.
If you haven’t made any sort of selection by May 1st, we’re basically going to put you into the bronze category which will be our free category and we’re going to suspend the features that you may have been utilizing that fell into an upgraded category.
So for example, if you fall into the silver category today, because you’re utilizing paid time off and you don’t take any action prior to May 1st, we will put you into that bronze category on May 1st and at that time, we will suspend the paid time off.
If you’d like to obviously upgrade to silver at any point in the future, you can do something through the benefits and a feature functionality will obviously presume as usual, we appreciate your time in terms of action items.
Then we talk about the next steps, what we wanted to let you know is that we are going to be proactively reaching out to each of you individually so that you understand what makes sense for your business and what your options are.
