This article will walk you through the course selection process on Infinite Campus, the first thing you will need to do is to log on to the Infinite Campus portal, your username is your student ID number, your password is your first initial, last initial and six digit birth date.
After you’ve entered that information, click Sign In, once you’ve logged in to the Infinite Campus, you will see your name in the top left corner, my name is sample, below your name you will see course registration, the next school year and the junior high you are in boundaries to attend.
If you do not have this option, you are not in boundaries for a Gilbert public school, your parent must complete an open enrollment application, when you click on this link, it will take you to the course selection page, please remember that the portal is open for a short amount of time, it’s important that you enter your classes before the portal closes.
All of you should have received your course selection forms and have those in front of you in order to begin inputting your classes, you will notice that on the left-hand side of the screen your required courses or core classes have been entered for you.
This means that you will only be inputting your elective choices, the first thing you need to do to input your elective choice is to click on course search which you will notice in the middle of your screen, after you click on course search, you will see that course name and course number are displayed.
It’s easier to enter your course by course number, so I will demonstrate first how to enter your classes by course number, on your course selection form you will notice that the course numbers all start with a J, you must enter J than the course number.
For today’s purpose I’m an 8th grader, I can see that all of my required courses have been entered, I’m ready to add my electives, I would like to take drama as an elective, so I’m going to enter the course number for drama, then click go.
On the right hand side of the screen under select the course to view is drama 1, when I click on drama 1, I will see below that I’m able to request this course, click on request this course, you will now notice that drama 1 is listed under my requested courses on the left hand side of the screen.
Eighth-grade students will receive two electives, since I’m an eighth grade student, I need to enter in another elective choice, I will click on course search, I would like to take choir, so I will enter the code for eighth-grade choir.
After I enter the code, I must click on go, on the right hand side of the screen under select a course of view is chorus 8, when I click on that, I will see below that I’m able to request this course, I will click on request this course.
I can see that drama 1 and course 8 are listed under my requested courses, please note that 8th grade students will receive two electives and seventh graders will receive one elective, after I’ve entered my two requested electives or one requested elective if I’m a seventh grader, I must go in and select my alternate elective courses.
Eighth graders will select three alternate elective courses, seventh graders will select two alternate elective courses, we will make every effort to give you your requested courses, but due to class offerings and class sizes, we cannot always do so.
If we cannot give you your requested course, we will use your alternate choices, you will enter your alternate courses the same way you enter your requested courses, click on course search, then enter the course number, all course numbers start with a J.
I’m going to enter the course number for art, after I enter the course number, I must click on go, I will see that art 1 is listed on the right hand side of my screen, I will click on it, down below you see requests as an alternate, I will click on request as an alternate.
I can see that art one is listed under my alternate courses, the next alternate course I’m interested is Industrial Technology, I will click on course search, if I don’t know the course number for Industrial Technology, I’m going to search by course name.
I do this by typing the name of the class into the course name box, after you do that, you must click on go, I can see on the right hand side there are multiple industrial tech classes that are offered, I’m going to click on J AIT 800 industrial tech one.
This is the course I want because J AIT 700 is a seventh grade class, because anything with 700 represents seventh grade, I do not want industrial tech 2 because I have not yet taken industrial tech one, therefore I’m going to click on J AIT 800 industrial tech one.
Next I will click on request as an alternate, the industrial tech one is listed under my alternate courses, I am an eighth grade student, I need three alternate courses, so I must add one more, I will click on course search and type in the course number for life skills, then click go.
I will click on the course name on the right hand side, below I will click on request as an alternate, I can see life skills is my third alternate course I have chosen, if you need to make a change to either your requested courses or alternate courses, on the left hand side of your screen click on the course you would like to change.
I no longer will like to take art as an my first alternate, I’m going to click on this, then I will click on drop this request, instead I would like to add in creative writing as an alternate, I will search for creative writing by typing the name of the class, then click go.
I will click on creative writing on the right-hand side of the screen, below I will click request as an alternate, I can now see that Creative Writing is listed under my alternate courses, when you have finished entering your classes, you will know that you have done it correctly if you see a 28 out of 28 units displayed at the top.
A full day has 28 units, when you’ve completed your course selection process, you can print your course request summary if your school is requiring it by clicking on print request summary, after you have done this, you have completed the course registration process and you can click sign out.
