Welcome to this training passage on how to access Delavan Darien’s Infinite Campus Parent Portal area, the Parent Portal is a tool that parents use to check on students’ grades, attendance or lessons, they can contact a teacher and do much more.
To get started, visit our website www.ddschools.org and click the parent portal link at the top of the page or you can scroll down to the Infinite Campus quick link, either one will take you to the login page, once at the login page, enter the username provided to you by the school district and your password you chose in the appropriate fields.
If you forgot your username or password, click the links below the form fields, enter the security email affiliated with the account and click continue, an email will be sent to you with instructions on how to reset and password, if you never received a username or password or have never logged in to the parent portal, contact your child’s school’s main office by dialing two six two two three three six eight zero zero.
Click sign-in to log in, once you have logged in, you should have a menu of useful options to the left of the page, before we look at information for your students, let’s explore some of these settings options that you have in your portal.
On the messages screen you can see important messages sent from the district or your child’s teachers, important links such as our student parent handbook and our annual notices are in the district announcements tab, more frequent messages such as reminders that are sent out to all families and messages from your child’s teacher will appear in the inbox similar to receiving a regular email.
Double check that the information in the household information and family members tabs is accurate, make sure that all family members and students are listed, if a change is needed, please contact your child’s school’s main office by dialing two six two two three three six eight zero zero.
The calendar tab shows important dates on our district calendar, shaded boxes indicate school days, you can also see attendance and assignment notices about your child here, click the icons to reveal details about such notices, the X in the upper right corner will close the pop-up window.
The to-do list shows assignments for your child which are entered into the portal by your child’s teacher, it shows the student’s name, course, assignment title, the sign dates and due dates, there’s also a column showing if the assignments were overdue.
This is useful to keep your student on track with the work that is assigned to them in the classroom, under the account settings tab, you can adjust your personal Parent Portal settings, you can change your password, you can change the email affiliated with the account and you can set up an e-signature pin that allows you to electronically sign district documents.
Be sure to click Save if you make any changes, in the contact preferences screen you can add or change emails used to receive notifications from the district, you can also select what type of email notifications you receive by checking or unchecking the appropriate boxes.
At the bottom of the screen you can also change the language of the emails you receive, click the Save button if you make any changes, let’s look at student specific information, if you have more than one child enrolled in our schools, you can see information specific to the child by selecting them from the drop-down menu at the top of the page.
The left menu has changed, you can see information for your student including such things as his or her scheduled attendance, grades and more, on the schedule screen you can click on a course and see a breakdown of the grades assignments in homework.
You can also click on the teacher’s name to send the teacher an email using your computer’s default email application or you can right click and copy the teacher’s email address and paste it into a browser-based email system such as Gmail and Yahoo Mail.
The attendance tab shows a summary of your child’s attendance by day and by course, click the arrows on the calendar, look to look back and click on any noted attendance date to see detail about your students absence, you can also see a summary of absences by course, by period, by day and by term using the tabs below.
Toggle the arrows to see details about the absences, click on the date to reveal more details if desired, the grade screen shows course grades by quarter, click on the course name to reveal details about the grade for that course, this is essentially your students report card.
The behavior link simply shows if your student has any office referrals for behavior and incidence, if they have, anything will show up here, remember that you can choose to receive an email notification if there is behavior for all with a student in your home.
Make sure that the behavior box is checked in your contact preferences, the to-do list which we’ve shown you earlier now contains information specific only to this child, for households with multiple children, remember you can change the viewing screens between children using the drop-down at the top.
At the top is also a whole button that will return you to the main menu, there’s a notifications button indicated by a bell that shows a quick summary of any important notifications such as a student’s absence, before you log out, using the button at the top right we have one last thing to show you.
When it’s time to register a student for the upcoming school year, you can click the online registration link toward the bottom of the main menu, our online registration system guides you through all the screens necessary to register, enroll your children for the upcoming school year.
