Description: The article is about ipass login. There are some thoughts from people who have successfully implemented I PASS for student success. I pass system can be a great tool for students to achieve success during their school years.
I pass stands for integrated planning and advising services. It needs different software tools to leverage existing data comes from SIS or ERP or even LMS.
It is being able to integrate a technology solution to help with student advising, student counseling, student intervention of issues and problems. It’s a market acceleration grant funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I understand that there are four areas that they’re interested in developing.
Those are progress tracking, student planning, advising and counseling as well as early alert systems. The overall goal for that technology solution is to be integrated into the institution’s business practices with the ultimate goal of helping students succeed and making it all the way to completion at the institution.
I pass is such a nascent field that we don’t know too much about its effectiveness, we don’t know whether it works or not. It’s imperative for institutions that are thinking about implementing these things. This is about how they want to measure the particular outcomes and how they want to assess those things.
Technologies are another tool in the tool belt. I am one of those people that will try anything, any one tool has a potential for reaching a group. I pass grant has included some management training. There is a certain disruption to the processes in business of colleges and universities when they are implementing this and bringing it online.
The entire curriculum and course catalog have to be loaded into this digital tool. In the process of doing that, they would find all of these dead end courses. The prerequisites didn’t exist anymore. It is the streamlining in many ways of the course offerings. It ends up being a benefit on the back end. I think that caused a lot of consternation. It causes headache in the moment but the institution found that beneficial to them.
Those informal leaders in the institution can be those champions. We’re jumping in and using it and then we can talk to them throughout the institution, they can talk about their experience with this. I’ve made some great friends through I Pass. Hearing about what has been going on and what other people are doing make me feel good about what we’re doing. It has given me confidence and reinforcement.
There is a lot of promise for institutions that are struggling with finding ways to reach out to their students. It provides them with the broadest degree of student support services. All projects are great. It’s a complicated process with lots of moving pieces. They are educating them as to why the changes are necessary, what other changes are and what things are needed from stakeholders.
Once you compartmentalize the technology integration piece, the other side of it is to think about those business practices of the institution. This tool can positively impact those business processes. We’re seeing that. We are seeing good results in our data, we are seeing good usage saturation across the college, that’s the only thing that we are going to improve.
