Description: This passage is mainly about lastpass login. In this passage, we can know that LastPass is a password management system that stores all your passwords and will make them secure and we can know how to set up LastPass on all the browsers.
This is Shadz from Shadz Gaming, and today I am going to do a tutorial on LastPass, so for those of you that don’t know LastPass, it is a password management system that stores all your passwords and will make them secure, so you don’t have any weak passwords that people can exploit.
If you’d like to use LastPass, what you need to do is that you need to go to LastPass com and you will get this website, so what we do from here is to click Get LastPass Free, and if you haven’t got the plug-in installed, this is what you’ll see, so as you can see, it comes up saying that LastPass wants to install a plug-in, allow it and they’ll download.
Then you click Add and OK, and as you can see, the little icons at the top now for LastPass is currently gray, what we need to do from here is to click on the icon and then click create account, get rid of this, so you need to put your email address in My Name and we’ll agree and then click create account.
So we need to create a master password for LastPass, this is probably the only password that you will ever need to remember, all your other passwords will be managed by LastPass from now on, so there are minimum requirements, it’s got to be at least 8 characters long, it’s not your email address because it is identifiable and not easily guessable.
So as you can see, it gives you a bit of advice here on what to meet your password or an idea of what to make your password, so it is going to pop a password in here and you can see it, as it’s secure and up here, you also set a reminder as well, so you set your password to QWERTY as in the keyboard.
You can set your reminder as keyboard to remember that, I’m not going to say anything, so I’m going to click unlock my vault and it will create my account, and that’s done and it’s logged me in to my vault for LastPass, so your vault is where all your passwords will be stored from here, when you first use it, it will give you a tutorial.
So you can click Show Me Around and then it gives you a bit of information about all the things, all saviors name and passwords, and it’ll show you everything that you need to know, so we’re going to skip this, you can do that at your own leisure, from here you can do several different things.
If you go to account settings, this is your account settings and obviously you need to set your time zone and so on, do that and then you can do things such as set stage elephant occation, and it will trust any of the devices, so if you want to install LastPass on your mobile device as well, you can do that and it will encrypt everything on your mobile device as well.
Then if you move our device supports, what you can do is that you can set it all for fingerprint, so LastPass will pop up and says that if you want to fill this anything, you put your fingerprint on and it’ll pull you username and password off LastPass, if you’ve got any mobile devices set up, there is no show up here.
So if you want to turn LastPass off for specific websites, you can add them here to a whitelist that will be ignored by LastPass equivalent domains, so if you have the same login credentials across multiple different web sites, you can mark them as equivalent URL rules, when you have logged into a website, LastPass shows all login entries that have a similar URL.
So let’s click update, it has asked me for my master password, so anytime you update any of you settings, it will ask you for your master password, this is another way to make sure that you are definitely and it’s updated, so what I’m going to do is that I’m going to sign up to a website, so I’m going to sign up to CNN that is a news website.
So click create account, what I have noticed straight away is that LastPass isn’t active on this website, probably because I have it open pre-installing LastPass, so we’ll close the tab and we’ll go back to it again, click here, now LastPass is active, the reason is that I’ve got a little LastPass icon here.
Here is a screen name, here is your email address, type in your first name and last name Shadz, and then here it says password psych already, it tells me that the password is too weak, now when I click on here and click this button here, now it’ll take me to a password generator, so as you can see, LastPass has suggested this as the password.
If I click show options, you can also change the password, so you can make it more or less secure, so I can also add symbols in to make it even more secure, it’s set by default, so the password length is 12-character or symbol long, so I’m going to leave it as default for this, what you can do now is that I like to copy it in case anything happens.
But you can click fill passwords and you’ll notice that LastPass builds the passwords in for us, I don’t know whether you need the postcode in here or not for this website, so we’ll leave that in case of anything and hit submit, I don’t want Firefox save it but you’ll notice that LastPass comes up, it’s come off and says that if you want to save it, either not or yes.
So we’ll click Add and LastPass says that now I have all set, that’s brilliant, so now let’s go back to our vault, we will click up here and click open my vault, and if we click on the drop down, you’ll see CNN, so it has stored my username and password quickly, and for this website what I can do is that I can click Launch and I’ll launch the website.
It says that I have signed in as Shadz already, it’s bypass, there is no problem, it’s logging me straight in the CNN website, now I don’t need that, so on your vault you can edit and share the password with those other people if you want or you can delete it, so let’s click edit, here it shows you the URL, it shows you that this is the website and this is where you log in and the name of the website.
It shows you your username and then it will show you your password as well, now the password automatically by default is checked out, and click there and click show password and it will show you the password, so you can also click advanced settings and you can have it, so it automatically logs you in.
If you need, you can set it, it does a password prompt or you can disable the autofill options, so LastPass will still save your password for you, but it will disable the autofill options or whatever security reason is, so there are a couple of other things, you can add notes as well, such as Wi-Fi passwords.
If you click down here and click add secure note, you can name it whatever you need, so let’s name it LastPass, we’ve not set any folders up, so it’s a generic note and then you can put this LastPass out and hit save, and now it’s saved my note for me, if we click on edit, it’ll bring it back up again, and you can add or remove stuff from that note form fill-in.
So this is especially handy for addresses or payment details, so what we can do is to click on the Add button at the bottom, and you can save your address, so if you go into a website that requires your address, you can click the three little buttons next to the field, and LastPass will automatically fill all your details in.
It’s good to address, website only needs the first line of your address and your zip or postcode, LastPass will take those two bits and autofill those two bits for you if you ask it, you can also save contacts in LastPass and credit card information and bank account information, you can set up custom fields as well which may be handy for people.
You’ve got advanced setting, so when you click on that for extra security, you can get it to verify your password before Auto filling, so let’s click cancel on that sharing center, as it states here, as far as families is here to protect your family and share your digital life securely with simple controls, there is no limited sharing between family members, so you can share things and send passwords securely with family members.
Then we’ve also got a security challenge, when you’ve got a lot of passwords, if you’ve imported your passwords into LastPass which is easily done, which you can click on the icons up here and go to more options advanced and import, and then our Firefox says firefighters password manager, but it can import from there if you need.
It’s a warning with the latest Firefox, Firefox quantum does not work because they disables the export passwords facility on Firefox quantum, so it doesn’t work, but what you can do is that you can get external programs that take the passwords out of Firefox quantum and store them in a basic CSV file.
So what you can do is that you click on other instead, which also doesn’t seem to be working on Firefox, which is always handy but you can do it down here instead, so forget to advanced import and then it’ll work, then you can click generic CSV file and import it, what will happen is that all your passwords that you’ve got stored in Internet Explorer Firefox such as Google and Chrome, we’ll get imported all at one go, and all your passwords will show up in your vault.
From there you can get LastPass to manage those passwords, and it can even change the passwords for you if you need, what I find especially useful is this security challenge, now it’s Berkeley security challenge, it’ll take us to another website and ask you to show you score, so we’ll show score, it should ask us for our master password at this point.
So I hope you master password in, it’s saying that the following email addresses are associated with my LastPass fault, that’s fine, click continue and show my score, so from here you can see my LastPass score is 80%, your LastPass stands in this one, the lower the percentage you have, the better it is.
My password is secure, it’s 93% secure, so from here as you can imagine, when you’ve got a lot of passwords stored in LastPass, a lot of people will have duplicate passwords, maybe you use the same password for three or four websites and that’s human nature, we all do things like that, but LastPass is here to stop you from doing that and make things a little bit more secure, make every password for every website unique.
So down here it will show duplicate passwords if you have any, it will show you compromised passwords if you have any, it will search to see if any of your accounts is compromised, if so, it will say duplicated passwords and it will go back to all, it will say launch site, for certain websites, LastPass can launch the website and change the password for you.
Then you close the website back down and then update the password in LastPass database here by the click of a button, and then it’s totally secure and everything’s exactly how it should be, so from here, we have got LastPass to create the password, so it’s a hundred percent which means that the password is totally secure for that website.
All websites have different measures for password security, which means that this password is 100 percent secure for CNN, but if I don’t know google.com for instance and I have a Google account, it may only be 93% secure, then let’s go to the password generator and I’ll show you.
From here this pops up on the form fields, if it’s only 93% secure, you can always update it, a 20-character password for instance and that might make it 100 percent secure, and it all depends on that website, for me as long as it is green and it’s at least 95 percent secure, I’m happy with that, generally that’s a very strong password, click off there.
That’s always handy, the security challenge is always handy, your passwords are definitely secure and that is how to set up LastPass, you set it up in the same way on all browsers, as I have said, you can get the LastPass app on your phone as well, so you can secure your phone with LastPass as well, and that is everything for today, thanks for reading, I’ll see you again.
