Description: This passage is about my verizon login, which is about Verizon Wireless Prepaid 2GB Bonus Data Promotion at Walmart. Verizon and Walmart have been running a promotion that gives bonus data to customers using a Verizon Prepaid phone or SIM that was purchased at Walmart.
Today I want to tell you about the special Verizon wireless prepaid promotion currently going on at Walmart. Back in November 2016 Verizon wireless prepaid launched their $50 five gigabyte and $70 10 gigabyte plans.
Those plans are of great value if you want to use the Verizon network, some people started leaving comments telling me that there’s a special promotion at Walmart, you sign up for Verizon wireless prepaid, you’ll get an extra two gigabytes of high-speed data per month added to your account, that would bring the plans to $50 for seven gigabytes and $70 for 12 gigabytes which I think is a great deal.
I finally got a chance to visit Walmart, in the prepaid wireless section of the electronics department they had this sign, it clearly shows that for $50, you’ll get five gigabytes of high-speed data plus two gigabytes of bonus data, so that’s $50 for seven gigabytes and then on the $70 plan, it’s 10 gigabytes plus 2 gigabytes of bonus data bringing the plan to $70 for 12 gigabytes.
This is a big promotion for Verizon and Walmart, I was surprised when I was leaving the store, they even had a sign outside promoting this deal, if we go back, we can zoom in on this picture and we can take a look at the fine print and see the details of this plan.
The plan is seven gigabytes and that’s five gigabytes on the plan plus two gigabytes of bonus data or twelve gigabytes again 10 gigabytes of data plus 2 gigabytes of bonus data, that bonus data is going to be on your account as long as it’s active.
If you sign up for the 50 or $70 prepaid plan using this deal, you’re going to continue to get those 2 gigabytes of bonus data, this 2 gigabytes of bonus data will not be counted in your carry over data.
For those of you who don’t know Verizon wireless prepaid does support carry over data, this bonus data is not eligible for carry over, before moving forward I want to say a big thanks to all of you who have been sharing information and your experience with this promotion in the comments, I appreciate it.
Based on the comments, it seems that this is a limited time offer, it also seems that if you want to sign up for a BYOP plan, you’re going to need to call Verizon to make sure you get the extra data when you sign up.
When you sign up for a BYOP plan, you’re going to need a sim and you’ll only be able to buy a sim kit and the one they sell comes with a two-gigabyte plan, one viewer said that he needed to call Verizon and he paid an extra five dollars.
I guess that brought up the credit that came with that kit to 50 dollars, they were able to enroll him in the seven gigabyte $50 plan, another commenter suggested that you order the sim directly on walmart.com.
I haven’t tried that, I’m not sure if that’s going to work, my understanding was that this offer was in store only, it wasn’t with purchases online, the other thing that I would point out too is that if you order the Verizon SIM at walmart.com, it’s sold by another seller.
We can take a look at walmart.com, here’s the Verizon BYOD SIM card kit for $50 which is showing that this kit comes with a $45 credit for a one-gigabyte plan, adding five dollars to this would give you $50 or credit and then it would make sense that you could sign up for that $50 plan and get the two extra gigabytes of bonus data.
You’ll notice that this is sold and shipped by Walmart, but if we go back and we look at some of the other offers fort sim card, you’ll see that they’re from other sellers, so this one is sold and shipped by a different seller.
I think you can see what’s available from Walmart.com and you’ll see this is the only SIM kit, the rest of the listings refill cart, when I was in my Walmart, I didn’t even see any SIM card kits, they didn’t seem to have any on display.
Walmart and Verizon are trying to sell these plans with a phone, you’ll have to do a little extra work to make sure you get that bonus data, if you want to go BYOP or BYOD, I wish Walmart and Verizon would sell sim only kits in the store where you would buy the kit that comes with a sim and no credit.
That way you could pick the plan you want when you sign up, finally I didn’t want to say if you’re going to sign up for Verizon wireless prepaid and you want to get on the 50 or $70 plans, definitely visit Walmart and try and get this deal.
If you don’t need that extra 2 gigabytes of carryover data, you might try visiting your Verizon store and see if they offer you a good deal on prepaid wireless, now in some states they might do that.
I’ve had one viewer that said he got a good deal in store, finally I noticed that Verizon now is showing that they have the $40 plan with 2 gigabytes of high-speed data, if you’re not going to use more than 2 gigabytes of high-speed data per month especially now that they have carry over, you might be better off signing up for the $40 plan.
It didn’t seem that Walmart had any promotion on the $40 plan, if you are interested in signing up for the $40 plan or for some reason you don’t want to sign up at Walmart, I have some affiliate links for Verizon wireless prepaid in my website and in my article on smart phone matters.
If you use those, they’ll be no extra cost to you. You’ll be helping support the channel. Always try and get the best deal if you’re interested in the 50 or $70 plans at Walmart.
