Description: This article is about navient login, in which the author will tell you not to go to a for profit school where you will be saddled with debts that you cannot pay back and they may hit you with high interest private student loans and you won’t be aware of them before you graduate.
Let’s talk about for-profit schools and Naviance, before I went to school for my master’s degree, I went to a for-profit school called ITT Tech where I attended and got both my associates and bachelors degree in software engineering.
The curriculum was god-awful, it was terrible, most of the teachers either quit or got fired, the most disgusting thing about the school was their private student loan program, I graduated from the school in 2008.
Even though I had military tuition assistance for my bachelor’s program from the state including the fact that I paid five thousand dollars out of pocket to graduate, they signed me up for private student loans without my knowledge or consent.
Even though I told them in person that I did not want any private student loans, I would sign up for them, eventually I found out that I have private student loans when zalim called me four months after graduation and asked me why I wasn’t paying on my student loan debt.
Private student loans are like credit cards, you’re paying higher interest in federal student loans, interest rates on these private student loans can range from nine percent all the way up to twenty percent.
Another difference is that most of these private student loan companies do not offer forbearance or deferment on their private student loans, if anything bad happens to you such as a job loss or a medical emergency because your credit will be screwed, I need to implore unemployed about a few months ago with my previous position.
That means that that put me behind on my student loan payments, now if you get behind on your student loan payments, navient will not like this, they will hound you until you submit, they will send you letters, they will call you incessantly.
In a matter of one day they called me at least ten times asking for payment, they recently called me last week and I recorded the conversation, as you’re aware that state laws both in Missouri and Delaware allow meter for these conversations, since I was party to the conversation, so let’s have a look.
First call. My name is JoeDWhite and I was left a message to speak with Reina, an extension ge4, thank you, you left a message on my voicemail, this message is for JoeDWhite, my name is Reina and I’m Account Manager for the month, I have been reviewing your account.
I see some great options that I can offer you, when it is imperative that you give me a call back and then you only speak to me, this is a time-sensitive message because I will be making those decisions on your account in the next couple of days.
I would like to be a part of this session, you can reach me, I’m here Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, my phone number is a Google Voice number, so I translate all my voice to a text message and send it via email, I didn’t have a memory, I’m reading it for a word-for-word. I have no money.
I’m currently working, but I’m paying making sure that all my bills are caught up and unfortunately with the my financial situation at this time I don’t have any money at this time, one of those loans should have been on a deferment.
I was told that I was able to get a deferment on one of those loans, because there was a deferment available, I’m talking about my private loans not my federal loans, I called and spoke with someone a few months ago.
They set up a forbearance on it that never took place, that was in either May or June, what are my options as far as our forbearance on my private loans? I’m confused, can we set it up so we can my payments are due on the 21st of October and the 21st of November.
I mean that would be great, I don’t have the money, I might come up with the funds by the end this week, in a few weeks, the 28th, I’ll call your bank back and make a payment, thank you.
Second call. Hi Reina, it’s JoeDWhite again, how are you? I’m wonderful, I called last week when you left me a message saying that you are my account manager and there are options that you can offer me.
You offered me an option where I can pay hundred twenty-eight dollars until the 28th which is today, I would have to pay into a specific month, I need to pay $70 and then I won’t have any loans due.
I want to set that up, the name on the account is JoeDWhite, my other concern is that I’m eventually going to have to dispute on these two private loans because these loans were electronically signed on my behalf and I never even consented for these loans.
This is my financial aid representative at ITT Tech when I graduated, I found out that I had private loans signed on my name, I never even told before I graduate that I had private student loans.
How did I get the money to go through school? From what I was told, I only had federal student loans and after my associates I went through my bachelor’s program and primarily through that program.
I am also military so I went through using state tuition assistance, I also had to pay out-of-pocket five thousand dollars to graduate, I have to contact my own Police Department of fraud form. I will contact my local police department. Thank you for the information Reina.
