Let’s talk about the office three admin center. In this section, you will learn about the main admin center and some of the administrative tasks, we are going to take a look at the following topics, the office 365 admins in our dashboard, configuring your organizational settings, setting up your new company’s domains, setting up and managing users, managing licenses and subscriptions and how to get support.
First, let’s take a look at the dashboard. In this demo, we’re going to look at the dashboard, the search, the incomplete tasks, navigation, your organization name link and the old admin Center. I’m in my office 365 admin Center, I’m signed in as an administrator so that I can see this dashboard.
On this dashboard, there are elements, each of these elements can be clicked into or you can choose a sub-element of the card, you can also choose to configure the way this home page is looking by clicking on the pencil. You can move the cards around on the screen, you can also add any additional cards that might be available to you.
Once you save, your screen will be administered the way that you want. Once you save, your screen is saved in the order. We’ll talk about search, at the top of the page, there is a search box. If you know the name of the command that you’re trying to find, you can type it into the search box. You will get a bunch of options in which you can choose from.
Once you choose one of the options, you may have the screen change or you may have a side panel that opens up for you. We’ll talk about the incomplete tasks, if you have any tasks that you need to complete for your office 365 setup, they will show up, you will also get some helpful links and a video or step-by-step help to be able to get you pass this and complete tasks.
To get back, you can click on the admin Center link. Let’s look at the navigation, the navigation is located on your left hand side of your screen, when you scroll over the topics, it pops out in the menu, you can also use the arrow to expand and collapse the navigation menu.
With the pop out menus, each topic in the navigation menu has subtopics or sub menus. In the collapse version, each menu item has a submenu. Clicking the down arrow will expand the submenu, let’s look at your organization name link. Your organization name link is in the upper right-hand corner, when you click into this link, you will go to a page that has your organizational profile details, these details are editable by clicking on the edit button on the right hand side.
For example, you may choose to have your release preferences set to first release for everyone, but you could also choose standard release and first release for selected users. That’s editing your custom themes for your organization. You can upload your logo, you can make it clickable with a certain URL, you can select the background image, you can select your colors, you can prevent users from overwriting your custom theme with their own theme.
You need to make sure that you save. Another thing you might want to do is to add custom tiles for your organization. For specific applications, that might be available to them. You can add a custom tile, you can give it a name, you can give the URL to the application that you want to display for that tile.
Once you add those things, that application will be available in the application launcher for your users. You can click on the home link or click on the admin center link to get back to the home screen. I am going to talk about getting to the old admin center.
There may be some things that are not accessible from this new admin center, although Microsoft is trying to change this, there are some things that aren’t available as easily. You need to go back to the old admin center, you can click on this button in the upper right hand corner, that will take you to the old admin center. Whenever you need to get back to the new center, you can tap on this banner.
