Description: It is about setting up a power school Parent Portal account for the Rahway Public School District.
The first thing you must do is to go to the login screen of power school parent portal (power school.Rahway.net/public).
Hit Enter on your keyboard after typing that in, and you’ll see a screen like this. There’s a Create Account tab that you must click on. Then, click on the blue Create Account button in this first section, and you will add your personal information.
The email address is very important because it will send important information by email. You will put in a desired username.
It is just a username that you will create, which is unique for you. We recommend using your email address because that will automatically be your unique username, although it is not necessary.
Next, it must have at least six characters and a combination of letters and numbers. It’s something that I recommend that you jot down and keep in a safe place, so that you can recall this as needed for the next section.
You’ll enter the information about the students in your household that you want to add to your parent portal account. Rowley Public Schools sent home letters that contain access IDs and access passwords for each student in your household by US postal mail.
You would enter the name of the student and then you would enter the unique access ID and password that was contained in the letter that you received.
If you don’t have access to the letter that was mailed to you, you can call your school and they will provide the needed information.
Once you’ve identified to yourself properly as a parent regarding of the child, I’m just putting in the information that would have been provided for this particular student. Then, I choose the relationship that I have to the student.
If you have more than one student in your household and you’ve received multiple access IDs and Passwords, you can enter each of those children at this time as you set up your parent portal account.
Once you’ve completed that, simply scroll to the bottom and click on Enter. If all goes well, it says congratulations your new parent account has been created.
It gives you the opportunity to enter your user name and password in the spaces, which would be the username and password that you just created.
Once you enter that and click on Sign-in, you will have access to the parent portal. If you have more than one child in the parent portal setup, you’ll see their names listed at the top and you simply could click from child to child to look at their specific information. Please note that we will be adding school message or information to the parent portal.
On the left-hand side, you will see a school messenger account setup link in the letter with the power school Parent Portal access ID and password information.
There is also school messenger information. It is an important setup option for you as well, because you could determine which types of communication you will receive from the school district through our school messenger mass communication system either by telephone via email or even by text. Therefore, please be on the lookout for that as well.
