Welcome to my sister’s budget, today we want to spend some time with the paychecks’ menu within my sister’s budget. There aren’t many options to get used to, we want to go over a few of the highlights as you get into using the software.
The first thing to remember is the Paycheck summary located in the lower left corner of the screen, it can be made to appear or reappear by the use of this button, it can be hidden or displayed according to your preference. Another thing to remember is that most of the functions for the Paycheck menu and these icons listed can only be activated by selecting a paycheck.
You’ll notice that these icons and most of the menu items under this heading become active to us. There are lots of important things to get paid. Most people want to know if they get a paycheck and how that takes place, you can select the paycheck. For instance, we can see tyler’s check, we can click on I got paid, you’ll notice that this comes up and gives us a chance to make sure the paycheck.
If we click this add paycheck, it will automatically pay us and dispersed to these categories on the right that we have allocated. There are the balances, this is the division of the paychecks for our budget. One thing I’ll remind you of is that if you select this, you can see the I got paid button, that’s another way that you can put the Paycheck in.
You get that every two weeks or as often as you happen to receive it. A new paycheck can be created if you have another job in the home that’s taken, you can go through and fill out this information such as the name of the paycheck, how often it’s received and the amount of that paycheck.
You’ll have an opportunity to allocate it to the categories that are already created, you can also add some new categories if you need to. But the key to my sister’s budget is to make sure that all of your paychecks and amounts are allocated to certain categories so that you can keep track of those.
We can edit and rename a paycheck and an existing paycheck. If we want to change the amounts that are going to certain categories, we simply click on the Paycheck, we can highlight one of these amounts. It appears and tells us how much has been allocated to that category, we can change that number, we can click Add.
As long as this remaining amount is zero, we can reallocate the paycheck to any of these categories. You can click on any category and change those amounts and shift them as you would like. The final thing under paychecks that we would bring your attention to is that we can print the Paycheck summary, we can print anything in the budget, you can print and see how that paycheck is allocated.
We can see how that paycheck summary is allocated if we need to have that for any reason outside of the budget. The paychecks menu is important, it drives the income for our budget.
