Description: The article is about squarespace login. This is an introduction about how to configure shipping and tax settings on Squarespace. The author mainly shows the procedures on how to configure shipping and tax settings on Squarespace.
Let’s look at setting up shipping and taxes for your Squarespace and Printful integration. There are no live rates available for this integration so you’ll have to set up flat rates. To do that,go to “Settings” in Squarespace page and choose Shipping under Commerce. You can lick add shipping option.
Here you have to choose between two options when using Printful. If you are selling one product type, for example T-shirts,we suggest you select Flat rate option. Or if you are selling more than one product, you can choose option depending on weight.
Firstly let’s go through the process when you choose flat rate option. You can insert the name of the specific rate. This time we will name it as Flat rate, this will be visible to your customers. You can find Printful’s shipping rates for each item in the Shipping Speeds and Pricing page.
Here we can see that T-shirt together with shipping in US costs $5.00 and a single shirts fee is $0.75. Now we can back in Squarespace, you can insert $4.25 as the order fee, that’s the base shipping fee without the t-shirt,each T-shirt fee is $0.75. When you have done this,go to the country restrictions section.
Under countries allowed, you can press the plus icon and find United States, you can click “save”. Repeat this process for all the places you want to ship to and you’re all set with flat rates option. So let’s look at creating a shipping option Depending on Weight.
This is a lot more complicated setup, but it allows you to add your fees to Printful’s shipping rates as well as sell more than one product. We have made FAQ that goes in more depth about this topic, but the main idea is to set up arbitrary weights to products, they are categorized and then you can add weight margins for different shipping fee ranges.
This time we will use T-shirts as an example. In the Options name field, you can type in Flat rate, this will be visible to your customers. And now you can start adding shipping rates based on the arbitrary weight. You can find our flat shipping rate information for each of our products on our Shipping Speeds and Pricing page.
For example, shipping price for the first t-shirt for the USA is $5 and $0.75 for each additional shirt, you can go back in Squarespace and add the first weight category from 0 lbs to 0.5 lbs and the $5 for the shipping price. Then you can click the plus sign and type in the next category from 0.51 lbs to 1 lbs,and now the shipping rate is $5.75.
And you should type in the next from 1.1 lbs to 1.5 lbs,and the shipping rate is $6.50. You can set up these as far back as you’d like. You need to make sure that you’ve added the arbitrary weight for each product. We’re looking at t-shirts today,so what I need to do here is that I need to edit my t-shirt product information to make sure the weight for each of them is set to 0.5 lbs. So now I have set up shipping fees for a order that might includes 1 to 3 t-shirts.
To see how this works with more products,be sure to check out our FAQ. When you are using Printful, you will have to collect taxes for orders going to North Carolina and California since these are the states that our fulfillment centers are located in. But you might need to collect tax for orders going to elsewhere as well, for example Europe. We have made tutorials about what is VAT and if it affect you,be sure to check those too.
But before we start setting up taxes,we need to emphasize that this isn’t professional tax advice and strongly advise you consult a tax specialist to find out your specific obligations. To add tax rate in your Squarespace website, you can click setting then in the Commerce section, you can choose Taxes. You can click Add country and select United States and save.
Now it says No tax at this level so we have to click on Add state. Let’s start with California,we can choose California, you have to add the average tax rate for each state. For California it’s 8%. You can leave the Charge tax on Shipping option unselected for California and click “save”.
You need to add North Carolina and for the tax rate you can set 6.75. We recommend applying tax for shipping costs for North Carolina. And once that’s done, you can click “save” and your changes have been saved. You can also choose to add local tax rates based on customers ZIP code and not use the average tax rate, you can do that by clicking Add local next to the state name.
We highly recommend you consult with a tax specialist on your specific situation. Depending on where you’re located, you might have different tax obligations you need to meet. Make sure to go through our Squarespace FAQ for more information on tax and also other specifics for this integration.
