We shall give you an introduction on you how to log into compass, the online campus community and access the student portal to view your course schedule and advisor contact information. From the student portal, you can also view your transcripts, holds information and faculty course pages, but it will not be covered in this particular tutorial.
To login open your browser window and go to ww mitchell edu, click current students in the left-hand menu. Next, click student login at the top of the left hand menu, and enter your user ID and password. Your user ID typically follows the standard student ID format of first name. last name. Your password is a new custom Mitchell password for the fall 2011 semester, which will be used for all of your Mitchell user accounts.
You should have received information included with the registrar’s mailing that went out in the middle of August 2011. If you do not have your password information or you need assistance with login, please contact the help desk at 8 60 70 1 5 190. Their contact information is located at the bottom of the login information of the login page.
I will log in with a test student account which will show you an idea of what you will see when you log in. The first step when you log in is to check in for the fall semester and to do this simply, enter today’s date, namely the day that you first log in for the fall semester. Given the following format, it is two numbers for the month, two numbers for the day and two numbers for the year.
Once you have entered the date, click Update and then you are officially checked in for the fall semester. There’s a link in the center of the page to continue to the student portal where you can view your class schedule and advisor contact information. Note that your fall schedule is posted here on the main page and also under the registration link at the top menu.
When you click registration, you will see all of your scheduled courses as well as courses that are not scheduled for specific times, such as internships. To view all meeting times for each course, click Expand All in the top right corner and you’ll see that additional course times. The class meeting times are now displaying. Once you have expanded it all, you can click on the schedule area and choose print preview depending on your printer. You may find that the landscape print settings available in the top left corner, which gives you a better view of your entire schedule.
Once you’re finished printing now you may have questions about your class schedule, you’ll need your advisor contact information to locate the advisor contact information. First, we need go back to the home screen with the link in the top left corner. Next, we need click on audit your degree in the left-hand menu. Please note that the online automated audit your degree function is not yet available, but your academic advisor can work with you on your degree planning.
