Description: This is an article about sumdog login, which shows you a new feature in sumdog. It is a contest. There are a variety of fun games and four different subjects that you can play. Sumdog has 25 free math practice games customized to your child’s ability level.
My name is Nichols Mustangs, you can call me Mr. Goldman, today I want to show you a new feature in sumdog, that is the contest that I have enrolled you in, I log in as a student, that used to be Nichols, it no longer has his account.
I changed his name to Rob, on the left hand side of your screen you can see the button that says US national math contest, this is a new feature that I put on here recently, I’ve enrolled you all in the United States national math contest.
If you would like to participate, you can see that, in this competition we have a total of six days left to answer these questions, Rob here has a thousand questions that he can do, to show you how these contests work, I click on this box, you can see that there is a student leader board which shows kids throughout the school.
Caleb here has answered 716 questions, Freeman Elementary has been on a lot this week, this contest started today, this leader board will change, you can click to look at more details, you can see the top 10 students, you can see the daily winners.
This Freeman at 17-18 class in Indiana is doing very well, he is in first place for the entire country, if this contest were to end, their entire class would be given a Premium Membership, those of you that have been here for a while probably know that last year a bunch of our games were taken away and you only had access to those ten games.
Years ago I used to have access to everything, when I mentioned that class that’s in the lead, they would get a Premium Membership, they would be able to play any one of those games, if you want to participate in this, you have to follow the questions that they tell you to do on here.
For example I know that some of you have figured out a way where you can set this on tables, some of you are very smart, they are doing some addition facts to get a bunch of easy coins, during this contest you cannot do that, notice how if I click on addition, it says that points earned in this activity will not count towards the contest meaning Rob was a fourth grader, he can not log in here, do these addition facts and try to have those numbers compete in the contest.
It does not work that way, you have to go on here to the national math contest, then it’ll build you your own set of questions, his current pathway has to do with time, he should see some time questions popping up, for example here is the clock, it looks like 11:30.
You get the point there, because I did not finish the game entirely, it still says that I have a thousand questions left, but those thousand questions might seem to be a lot, those of you that have used sumdog a lot know that that’s probably about playing thirty or forty games, you’ll answer those thousand questions easily.
I want to show you one more thing, I’m going to log in as a former fourth grader that I had in my class years ago, she is now in middle school, she told me when she left to go to middle school, I could use her account to use this demonstration purpose, because she used this account so much, you’re probably noticing this little paw print that none of you have in your account.
The reason she has that paw print is that she was number one in the entire district of Northside back as a fourth grader, now she has a Premium Membership for math reading spelling and writing, she has access to everything, if I go to games, you can see that this little girl has access to everything.
To have access to everything, it would cost us thousands of dollars per year, but she has earned it by winning this Northside contest, so I want to show you that as an incentive and how these contests work, I didn’t spend a penny to have her have access to everything, she did it on her own.
I highly encourage all to log in and check out these contests, this will not be the last contest of the year, I haven’t enrolled us in the United States contest as well as Northside, if you have ever seen Northside mass contest, that is where we have the best chance of winning.
There are only about five schools in Northside that use sumdog and a few others, we’ve got a good chance, if we all join together as a team and get on there, we might be able to win, the last thing is that in order for your class to be eligible, it has to be ten students from your class that need to log in.
If one student goes home this weekend and uses sumdog all weekend, he or she is the only boy or girl in the class, your class will not be eligible, so it has to be a team effort, please let me know if you have any questions, thank you for reading.
