We will structure these web pages by embedding teaching and learning objects, that will allow us to discuss a page at multiple places. There is the option of putting up a TLO file. These three are TLO files. Those are the embedded videos. If I go back to view, I can click it, I have this table file, it stops with a red, I can discuss this video. I can go down and I can discuss this video. I’m able to discuss each object independent of the rest of the paper or other objects.
If I click on the title, I can see an additional material. That additional material was in the body, they could have additional TLO files. There is my title, this is my caption, the body is the TLO file. This happens to be a YouTube, but it could be a video, it could be on the Java applet, this is the text associated.
This architecture allows us to expand the course content as the class is being developed. For example, this particular activity is using Excel to calculate maps through the web. By embedding it into the TLO of this section, I was able to extend the course content without ever extending the actual page that I was looking at.
If I go back to the actual original page, this is the page that the author has submitted. Each of these can be discussed at different locations, that’s the idea of the teaching and learning object. With the teaching and learning object, we could extend the course content.
