Description: In the article which centers on uber driver login, the author talks about the differences between Uber and lyft. Both Uber and Lyft have great incentives and rewards that change weekly. The author recommends that you should sign up for both.
My name is Colin, today I’m going to help you figure out if you should be driving for lyft or for uber, now in short instead of making you get a verdict, you should be signed up to drive for both, there are certain times and certain weeks even where uber offers better incentives, better guarantees and an all-around better promotion than lyft does.
When that happened, you want to have the app that’s going to be paying you the most amount of money, let’s talk about lyft first, one of the biggest perks lyft has to offer their drivers is this thing called the power driver bonus, what the power driver bonus is is if you do a certain amount of rides per week within a certain time frame, you get to keep more money. They take out less money.
If you do thirty rides per week, they only take out ten percent as opposed to 20, I’m a driver in LA, if you do 75 rides per week, they give you all your 20% back, that’s great because uber has nothing like that, they take out 20% no matter how many rides you do.
The second biggest perk that lyft offers to their drivers is that it allows in-app tipping, we all know that Uber does not have that feature, it’s very rare that a customer is going to give you a cash tip, once in a while don’t get me wrong, it happens, but customer is way more inclined to give you a tip when it pops up on their app.
It says would you like to give them a tip? You’ll really be surprised at how much these lyft passengers will tip you, me personally if I drive about thirty hours a week, I’ll make from fifty to sixty dollars as tips which is great, overall I find that lyft passengers are a lot friendlier and more outgoing than uber passengers.
Another great feature that lyft provides drivers is a destination filter, let’s say you’re going out for a drive somewhere if you drop a pin to your location, lyft is going to match you up with customers going that same direction, you’re going to make extra money while going somewhere you have to go, it’s great.
Uber has the same feature to their app, difference is that it only lets you do two rides per day, when you’re with lyft, you can do destination filter rides whenever you want, this next topic might not be such a big deal breaker for you, but it’s definitely something you should be aware about.
Uber is bad with emailing their drivers back, almost every single week with uber I have an issue with at least one of my fares, I have to email Luber which is a nightmare, back and forth they ask you for screenshots of who it was you picked out, where you picked him up, when you dropped him on, what they looked like, it’s frustrating.
Overall lyft’s customer support system is way better than uber’s, another great thing that I like about lyft that uber doesn’t have is that it shows you a picture of your passenger before they get in the car, you know who you’re looking for, there are going to be a lot of times you’re driving up to bars, venues or events where there are going to be a lot of people waiting for an uber on the sidewalk, you’re not going to know who you are looking for.
Having a picture of their face is very convenient, now that we’ve talked about some of the perks with lyft, let’s talk about the benefits of driving with uber, I got one, there’s little downtime, with lyft I’ve waited up to 45 minutes to get a ride sometimes.
With Uber I almost never have that problem, I get new requests coming in before I even drop off my last passenger, having said all that, let me go back to my original answer, you should have both apps installed into your phone, be registered for both of them.
Every week you’re going to be getting new promotions and incentive deals from lyft and uber, whichever one’s offering to pay more, drive for that one for that week, when there’s no promotion going on, I’ll be logging into both apps at the same time, whatever request comes in first, I’ll accept that one, log off the other app and pick up that person.
