I am so excited to join you this morning from USAA because there are a lot of job opportunities at this building. The one who is joining me today is executive director of HR for the Tampa location Mrs. Kay Schwartz. I’m so excited to be here to see what this culture is all about and see the positive energy that’s going on here. First of all let’s talk about what USA is. I think people are driven by seeing the buildings but you can explain what are you doing here.
We’re glad you’re here. USAA is a financial services company. We’re a full-service bank insurance investments and we serve the military community and for those who are currently serving. It’s our mission to fulfill their financial needs to make sure that they’re successful in life.
You are a growing company which is so exciting. This is one of the newer locations. There are a lot of job opportunities. From now until next year we are going to hire a lot of positions. We’re going to hire through the fall including December. We were projected to have jobs going through June of next year even longer.
I don’t have the passenger projections. But there are opportunities. Why would somebody want a job here? What is it about? I have mentioned this culture. This company makes it such a great place for people to stay working at.
We value our employees as much as we value our members. If you’ve heard anything about USAA,our customer service is unparalleled. We’re unparalleled in the insurance industry in the banking industry in any of the industries. When you think about customers,the number is about 92% of our customers never want to leave us.
Our members never want to leave. When you think about that with our members,we want our employees to feel the same way. With that we have a culture here that’s empowering. It’s based on our military values because we’re a military company founded in 1922 by service members who couldn’t get insurance.
They started from those roots and we’ve grown to an 11 members. In this building we opened the doors here for our employees in October this year. It’s a brand spanking new facility. You are looking to hire veterans,you can talk about why that’s important to provide the opportunities for them.
You don’t have to be a veteran. We love veterans. We love the military and we love military spouses. We recognize what they’ve given to their country in their service. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to transition and join our ranks. For our veterans,if you’re looking for one of our draws jobs,we will substitute military service for a lot of our requirements of the job.
So if it requires industry experience or a degree we’ll take military service. It’s not like you have to be in the finance office in the army. You can be in any military service because we completely recognize the skills that you learn in the military and the values that you have.
For military spouses,they’re a little different story. It’s not about translating skills from military skills to civilian skills. Spouses move a lot. They have job histories where sometimes they can’t work or they have kids and they volunteer and there are a lot of things that happen for the military spouse.
We recognize that and we give them a lot of opportunities. If you join us and join the ranks here and come work for us,once you’re an employee with us if your spouse gets orders we’re willing to work with you. You can take your job and make it portable and go with you anywhere in the US. There are some parameters.
We’re very flexible in those those areas. I want to mention that you have a lot of positions available here. But it’s not because people are leaving here people are getting jobs here,they’re staying and getting promoted. For somebody it is not only looking for a job but also looking for a career.
This is a great place to do that. We’re growing. We’re adding more roles and that’s why we add the second beautiful campus because we need more people to do the job with our wonderful membership. But most of the hiring that we’re doing is because people have been promoted into higher levels of opportunity.
That’s been exciting. So for a military spouse,it’s not a job here it can be a career. We have teams that work from home so you can become a manager become a director become a leader and a work at home capacity. Opportunities seem endless here.
