Today we’re going to walk you through the steps to transfer your Chicago Card Plus to your replacement Ventra card. Before we begin, you should be sure to have the Ventra card that was mailed to you, and be ready to log into VentraChicago.com.

You should have an e-mail with a username and password from a few months ago. If you can’t find this e-mail, you can quickly and easily recover your username and password. You can go to VentraChicago.com and click Account Login. You can click the username link under Forgot Username or Password.

You will be prompted for your Ventra Card number and email address. You can type in your 16-digit number on the front of your card and enter the email address associated with your Chicago Card Plus account. You can click Submit and you should receive an email shortly with your username and password.

If you don’t receive this email, please call 888-824-8802 for further assistance. You can go to VentracChicago.com and click on Account Login. A box will appear. You can enter the username and password and click Sign In. A pop-up will appear telling you to update your account settings.

This number provides you the ability to use Ventra Automatic Self-Service functions. It must be a four-digit number and can not start with 0.

You can choose your security question and answer and your birth date. If you would like to receive Ventra related alerts and marketing emails, you can check the appropriate box. Any remaining balance or 30-Day Pass days on your Chicago Card Plus account will be transferred to your Ventra card, a process may take up to an hour.

Next you need to add your account funding source. This will save your funding information for use with autoload or manually load passes to your new Ventra account. You can scroll down and click on Update Account Funding Source. This will bring you to your Transit Account Settings page.
